HD firefly?

Does anyone know what I can do to get Firefly on my HD6?

It's being rolled out in the UK and a few people on the UK Kindle Discussions forum have it already but mine doesn't.

Amazon have added a link under the HD in Manage my Devices which says 'Manage your Firefly audio and video' but it's hard to manage something you don't have

And yes I tried to phone Amazon which was pretty pointless........

Firefly was not installed on my Fire HD6 with the 4.5.3 update I received February 24, but when I swiped down from the top to turn on wi-fi yesterday, there it was...just to the right of "Wireless," where "Quiet Time" used to be! Others have reported the same thing happened on their device.

When I check Settings > Device Options > System Updates, it still says the last update was February 24, so I have no idea why it showed up a week later.

It's the software that launched with the Fire phone, something you can use to identify things you see and it tells you what they are and if Amazon sell them.

It's not really important, just something I'd like to play with.

I don't have it either. I forced the upgrade on 25 Feb.

It works pretty good on TV shows and such, takes like 2 seconds. It identified a TV episode that had no talking going on, but back round music. But when I muted the TV, it could not recognize .

I held it up to my cat who gave me an annoyed look and FireFly put in the screen "Is this a cat?"

Not sure how often I will use this in real life situations. I don't carry my Fire around when I go out and about. I am thinking this is more useful on the fire phone.

I don't have kids, but I an see how that could keep them entertained for a while.

It gets songs too I think, although I didn't try it yet. On the TV show it puts all the info on the screen with a handy link to the instant video store.

Well I got a reply from Amazon with instructions on how to use Firefly. Pity I actually told them I haven't got it yet!

When I phoned earlier neither rep I spoke to even knew what Firefly was, and one asked me if it was the tv show

I used it yesterday in the store Was kinda neat to see ALL store popup that carried item & prices!

Firefly has magically appeared on my HD6. It wasn't there the other day with the update, and I haven't had a notification that it upgraded again (same version). Strange.

It won't work when you are 'out and about', unless you have an internet connection. So it makes a little more sense on Fire Phone, which most people will have a data plan for.

But most places I spend any time in have accessible wifi so I'll use it enough. I may have to punch a hole in my cover so that the camera can see things with the cover folded back.
