Quite a number of other Oates titles are heavily discounted at the moment, with prices ranging from $0.99 to $4.99. I picked up A Bloodsmoor Romance, a favorite of mine, for $0.99.

I like those as well. I should have picked up Bellefleur last year when it was $1.99, but I didn't, and can't bring myself to pay $3.99 now. Winterthurn isn't even available as an e-book yet, except in a French translation.

I collect her books in First Edition Hardcover, but my collection is currently in a controlled environment in the U.S.A.

Thanks for the heads-up!

The freebie and deals are geo-restricted to US-only, it looks like, but her non-fiction essay collections at 99 cents look tempting enough for me to splurge and use up some of my gift card credit, and I think I'll try the two 99 cent novels available if the samples read well, pour encourager les autres sales.

Also, it turns out there's a Swedish translation of her short story Night Side available in Canada for $1.35 (couponable!) which I think I'm also going to get for practice (and re-affirm to myself that no, my grasp of written Dano-Norwegian is not nearly good enough to allow me to actually read this, ahahaha…), especially since it's listed at $3.99 at iTunes: Nattsidan
