Your English is better than most of our French (and I for one went to High School in Montreal).

Save your time pal.
The day wolfie will finally get it, that something like a personal preference exists and that it might differ from his ex cathedra expressed opinion about how the world shall be, is the same day pigs 'll fly over the frozen pits of hell. I wish I had an € for every time he posts something fitting the pattern: "I don't like foo, so it is wrong/bad/stupid" Would be quite wealthy now. |

Some people are more than usually convince that their opinions are more qualified, and argumentation results. Feel free to ignore it, it doesn't particularly help you with your book.

What's not done with most eBooks these days is left justify, and no indents. I've seen a shift recently for a lot of eBooks to use small paragraph space that's less then 1em.
The thing is, you want your eBook to look good. Think about this, if you ever saw a paper book with wide paragraph spaces and no indents, and left justified, would you like the way it looks? |

Ok, certain aspects of my ePUB project are close to discussions. The text is justified. There is a space at the beginning of each paragraph. And finaly, I leave to the reader the choice between a version with space between paragrahs and a version without space between paragraphs. I will let you know how popular are both version.
QUESTION : my son let me know that the cover of my ePUB do not appear full screen on his cell phone. What can I do ? manuscritdepot.com/doc-transfert/epub_jocelyn_malo_01.epub manuscritdepot.com/doc-transfert/epub_jocelyn_malo_011.epub |

Both versions have covers that are full screen when using ADE. It's most likely a flaw with the app he is using on his cell phone. What app and under what OS?

@JSWolf I'm curious. What is the advantage of including the line, text-align: justify;
p { text-indent: 1em; text-align: justify; font-size: 1.15em; font-family: Arial; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0.00em; } in the css for paragraphs as opposed to leaving the line out completely p { text-indent: 1em; font-size: 1.15em; font-family: Arial; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0.00em; } and allowing each device to format the paragraphs. For the same reason why include the font-family line? Both of these lines (line text-align: justify and font-family: Arial) cause me to edit or convert the epub before adding them to my library. |

@saguay
Your project (the foundation Fleur de Lys) is a very interesting initiative. So kudos for that. Let's go back to the book of Jocelyn Malo. There are still some problems that appear when the epub is read with an eReader (my Sony PRS-T1 for example). Two are evident: 1) the text alongside the image (in Au sujet de l’auteur) is shortened and 2) cadatrins dashes should be linked with a non-breaking spaces to prevent empty spaces in the first line, something like: "— Bien." instead of "— Bien." Finally, I think the paragraph with drop cap looks better with no indentation. <p class="noindent"> before <span class="lettrine"> and in the CSS: Code:
.noindent { text-indent: 0; } Good luck! PS Totally agree with you DoctorOhh! |
