I'm not an expert on Audible credits, but I'll give you an educated guess.

My experience with other Audible credits is that you "draw" on a credit until it is all gone. I don't know why it would be any different in this case. So, to answer your question more directly, if you make a purchase of less than the $20, you will not lose the difference.

I would suggest that you call Audible to confirm that this is right but I have gotten some wrong information several times from their telephone reps. But, if they give you wrong information, maybe you can call to complain and they will give you another $20 credit. ha

I got this offer a few months ago. You can use it in increments for as many purchases as it takes to use up the full $20. There is no expiry either, I just used up the last $4 after 4 months on today's daily deal. I re-canceled the next month and kept the $20 in case you wondered what would happen if you do that.

Does it show up like this 0 Credits Available Coupon balance: $20

I have always used this for more than one book I wanted that are cheaper like with the cheaper whispersinc books. You can always add several cheaper books up to $20 and proceed in the checkout process make sure no credits are added and then in step "2. Place Order" It will show the applied coupon discount before you check out and complete purchase.
Hope that helps

I got that offer a few days ago. I suppose it will renew tomorrow for the regular monthly charge. Hopefully they will run a sale before the next renewal date, as I will be cancelling before that.

Or you could apply the $20 to the purchase of three more book credits--if you have a Gold Plan, that would mean you'd spend an additional $16 and be able to pick up three more books.

Thanks to everyone for all your help. It sounds like there are lots of options for using the $20.

Narrated by Jon Reiss -- unabridged -- 3.0 hrs

Quote:
LearnOutLoud.com presents The Selected Essays of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Volume 1. The 5 essays contained on this audio program have been hand selected and represent specifically Emerson's early career as a writer. This material serves as an excellent introduction to anyone new to Emerson's work.

Born in 1803 Emerson is renowned as a seminal American author, poet and philosopher. A lifelong lover of nature, he is one of the founders of the transcendentalist movement. In his time he was quite active as a lecturer and was a contemporary of Frederick Douglass, Nathaniel Hawthorne and Henry David Thoreau among others.

Included in this audio program are:

  • Circles
  • Prudence
  • Love
  • The Divinity School Address

I am happy to announce that March can now officially begin. Why? Because Amazon has updated their free W4V title for the month. If you'd like to spend some time listening to "The Blue Fairy Book" by Andrew Lang it will be available for free all month. To get it, first get the free Kindle edition here, then you will be able to claim the Audible version (over 14 hours) for free here.

Enjoy!

Just a heads up - the remaining coupon balance on the Springtime promotion was removed from my account after 30 days, instead of the stated 60 days. A phone call reinstated it, but people might want to check their accounts.

If you have been keeping up over at MR's news forum you might have heard of a possible new Sherlock Holmes story found (details here). As with any proposed addition to the Doyle/Holmes cannon, there will be endless debate over it's place. What probably won't generate much debate is that if you get Simon Vance to read it, it'll probably sound decent no matter who put pen to paper. Audible will give you (likely) 8 minutes of listening pleasure for free! If you're intrigued don't hire a consulting detective just go here.

Enjoy!

Sweet. Thanks! 8 minutes of Simon Vance can't be a mistake, especially at that price.

Thanks, but I'm going to wait for the version narrated by the author.

I'm glad to get this audio. My knowledge of Emerson, Thoreau, and Transcendentalism is weak and listening to this audio a few times should go far in rectifying that.

Random House has a freebie over on their Facebook page in return for completing a survey. The book is "The Best of Edgar Allan Poe," which they gave away last year. If you missed it then go here to get it while you can.

Enjoy!

I usually don't pop off about sales unless I think they are better than average. Today there are two of them worth mentioning. First, Tantor has upped their game on their annual March Madness sale. They have over 3,000 titles for download all at $5.99 each. You can see the list here.

Second, iTunes has a regular rotating special on audiobooks. Normally I haven't found the sale that interesting (last month it was romances, for instance) but this month it is books made into movies. This is one that might actually made me spend some hard-earned gift cards. The sale can be found in iTunes at the top of the "Featured Audiobooks" page.

Enjoy!

Thanks! I snagged two of Ben Aaronovitch's Inspector Grant books from Tantor.

I'm in Canada and don't see the iTunes audiobooks deal, but the current top selling audiobook is The Casual Vacancy at $5.95 so I bought that.
