I have not been able to participate much on the literary bookclub this month (Billie's selection I missed completely) and that's a pity, but I have been and am very busy: I have recently come back from a magnificent trip to New York with my daughter...and of course it will soon be Christmas and my (almost 97 year old) mother in law is coming, then I have my birthday at the end of the year and of course the New Year festivities. So it will be in the beginning of the New Year that I can surface again....

And a happy Christmas to you too desertblues and to everyone in the club. I'll be pretty busy too with family who arrived yesterday and will be staying for about a week.

I too have not been able to participate much and I really miss it. I started with the club a year ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I must say that I have enjoyed the process of selecting books and reading through the various synopses prior to voting every bit as much as the reading itself. I've learned a lot.
Unfortunately I may not even get to the Dec selection and have only recently finished Toli Me Tangere (didn't like it much). I accepted an offer to teach a Restorative Justice course at the University of Waterloo and so all my reading time has been spent putting together the reader and syllabus. I've actually very much enjoyed reading and rereading a lot interesting material, but miss diving into some good fiction. I should be back and able to participate nearer the end of January.
Thanks to all for having enriched my 2014! I with the best of the Holiday Season to all and look forward to the new reads of 2015.

Happy New Year! I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season! I am thankful to have few weeks off work to relax (that is once I get the last minute shopping done, presents wrapped and the groceries for Christmas meals bought). Looking forward to our reads in 2015!

Hello everyone! Although I'm not new to the forum, I am new with the book club and it's rules, so I had to go through threads and pages to get the gist and rules etc. It's great because there's a heads up of the book clubs plans for the new members. Hope to have a great time to share and discuss the things we're passionate about here (clue: books!!!)
