I run across Whispersync companion deals around this price quite often. Invariably, though, the books will be very short. That means that the audios are very short, too--usually around an hour or an hour and a half--not good deals. The book in this deal, however, is 283 pages long, making an audio running length of 8 hours and 36 minutes!

Furthermore, the book is rated 4 1/2 stars, from 70 reviews at the present moment.

Audible seems to hide this link for purchasing extra credits at a discount if you have no more than one credit in your account. The discount depends on which membership plan you have; I have the basic one-credit-a-month plan and the extra three credits cost just under $36.

If you just got the $10 coupon for using three credits, the coupon balance is automatically applied to the purchase, which means the three credits effectively cost under $9 apiece.

For me, this worked out better than trying to find inexpensive books to use up the coupons.

This morning I was about to cancel my Audible account, giving "too expensive" as the reason, and they offered me $20 "toward any book," which induced me to sign up for another month.

The $20 shows as a credit in my account. My question is, can I use it for two or more audiobooks that add up to $20, or if I use it on something costing less than $20, will I lose the difference? Thanks!
