We got an inch down here, and they are calling for 3-6 overnight tonight.

Yeah, we got bumped from 6-8. It started about 20 minutes ago. Lots of fat flakes but nothing is sticking yet. I'll be glad of the day off to grade, but I was not so keen on having to rush to get my car inspected this morning in case we are stuck for a longer time than a day.

Well ... the south is officially closed .... we got at least 6" of wet snow ... lost power last night for 3 hours ... about to go out and start banging on pine trees, etc. that are weighted down by the snow ...

This is NOT why I chose to move south!

My wife tells me it's getting pretty deep in Chesapeake. The forecasters are calling for 6-8 inches at the moment before it stops at noon today. Meanwhile the snow today in Richmond is predicted to stop at around 9:00 a.m. From the looks of things I'd say we'll probably end up with around half a foot maybe.

Just finished banging pine trees with a rake - all were bent over laden with pounds of wet snow. One was even ice-glued to the corner of the house. Now off to my heating pad to watch stuff melt & fall off the tree limbs. We are SO lucky to have power today - this snow is HEAVY!

Chin up -- at least when it's over, you guys will quickly go back to warmer temps. Our snow will stick around till late March or April.

Or at least, we'll be a whole lot chillier than you will by then. Glad you were able to whack the stuff off some of your trees, though.

Spent most of yesterday cleaning off the driveway - even with full sunlight & temps in the upper 40's F - this heavy wet snow was going nowhere. After creating a shovel wide path on the front walk I surrendered and retreated to several heating pads on my recliner.

Last night all the meltwater froze - the end of the driveway is currently a skating rink - temps to remain in the 30's F for the next several days - glad I moved as much snow as I did.

Of course, this being NC, temps on Wed/Thurs may reach 70 F .... and then plummet again for the weekend ...

Well, all should be clear enough by 11:00 today - Stella has her annual 'wellness' appt for shots & exam. Load the earplugs!
