![]() I saw above me an endless skyway I saw below me a golden valley This land was made for you and me I've roamed and rambled and I've followed my footsteps To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts And all around me a voice was sounding This land was made for you and me The sun comes shining as I was strolling The wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling The fog was lifting a voice come chanting This land was made for you and me This land is your land, this land is my land From California, to the New York Island From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters This land was made for you and me ![]() ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HE4H0k8TDgw ) It was on this day, 75 years ago, that Woody penned this song. It didn't get published for another two years, but it will live on forever in our hearts. Good morning, everyone! One more bright and beautiful morn! I've got some Taylors of Harrogate's "English Breakfast" tea in my cup, and another liter of it in a thermos as we get ready to make some new footsteps through the jungle in yet another country made for you and me. Isn't the world a wonderful place sometimes! Stitchawl |

Early afternoon mug of PG Tips tea.
I wonder if Prof Crash is out having her baby. She was pretty quiet about this one so I don't think we know the due date. Stitchawl |

Now you're into my comfort zone. While I will drink some China Greens, and a fair amount of both China and India Blacks, Oolong is a favourite. Though more so in the summer than the winter.
This morning, after my fresh squeezed OJ, a pot of Lion Mountain Keemun. |

I drink it black. In fact, I drink all my teas "black". Keemuns run the gamut from pretty rough to sublime. A good Keemun should have a pronounced earthy nose and produce a deep red liquor that is smooth and mellow. The absolute best I've ever had was Keemun Xian Zhen from TeaSpring, in China, but that's way too pricey for every day drinking. The Lion Mountain Keemun I drink more regularly comes from Peet's in the US, but has been only sporadically available in the last year. So I bought a pound of it, but that's getting low. Hopefully they'll make another batch available soon, since this has been the best reasonably priced Keemun I've found. Another good one, from a Canadian source, is Murchie's Keemun Extra Superior.
One of the unusual things about Keemuns is that they actually age well and tend to improve over the first year or two. Right now, drinking some more of that Lion Mountain Keemun. Yumm. |
