The current weather here can only be described as 'pants' (the British kind, not the US - think dodgy y-fronts that used to be white) The time is 'too early to be at work'. Have the day off tomorrow though so will try not to complain too much since there will be many worse off than I am, and it's that time of year blah blah blah. (just random avatarity coz I felt like it) |

Incidentally, here's our rain radar: http://mirror.bom.gov.au/products/IDR083.loop.shtml (We're on the pointy bit to the right of Tewantin) though there's nothing much around at the moment. Cheers, Marc | |

'Twas beautiful this morning on the drive to work. I don't know the temperature over night, but there had clearly been a very hard frost. The scene was covered in that beautiful winter frosting, a dusting of white giving the trees, bushes and scrub a white halo, set afire by the glorious, clear, cool winter sunshine. A gentle steam arose from the river running through the valley bottom, as a couple of deer stood breathing heavily in the crisp air. In one of the trees, a beautiful male blackbird was singing, its deep black coat and vivid yellow beak a stunning contrast to the subdued colours of the near monochrome scene. Sadly, I'm now sitting in the office. |

				Time for a coctail.

I just thought of another drink with Drambuie. Your head feels like there is a rusty nail driven through it in the morning if you have one too many. Rusty Nail Ingredients:

				Snowing in Vancouver!

It's snowing in Vancouver! A loud pouring rain turned into quiet, hudge, snowflakes. Vancouver and Vicoria are the tropics of Canada. I hope it doesn't stick. The locals can't drive in the snow, it is better to leave the car at home. Plus, Quebec's made it mandatory for all vehicles to have snow tires by December 15, which has created a shortage across the country. I must venture out in it, hopefully the 4X4 will not have to be engaged. |

We achieved 35C today (Apparent temperature 37C), and at 6pm now it's still warmish (about 30C, 70% humidity). Mostly we've been in air-conditioning (car or house), though we're about to head down to the pool for a swim and a drink (not of the pool of course; likely with rum and ginger beer). We'll probably leave it until it drops a couple more degrees later on before we walk the dogs. Cheers, Marc |
