Aura I can't believe I broke it....

Had to take a bird to the vet today. When they called me I stood, fumbling to get my Aura into my purse. I dropped it on the tile floor. It broke instantly. Yes it was in it's case! I have never broken an ereader before, so I am very bummed. I still can't believe it. Even the the Glo screen is sharper, I loved that Aura!

Aww, sorry to hear that! Tile floor is unforgiving. I'm glad I don't have it in my kitchen.

I hope your bird is ok though.

Thanks....the procedure didn't work so the bird goes back in the morning for more sutures....I'll be more careful with the Glo I'll be taking, that's for sure!

It has been a bad luck fall, what a pity, because my Aura has fallen twice (once, I fell too..), even with the screen on the floor and screen open, and it's still with me.

I hope you bird gets better soon, and your Gloo keeps in good shape.

Sorry to hear that!

I have dropped my Aura twice on a hardwood floor and it didn't break(no case). Thought it was a strong machine, but maybe not.

LOL...yeah...that's two sources of stress for me today.....I am very upset about both the bird and the ereader.....I had been using the Aura as my primary reader! Good thing I have a new Kindle Voyage coming tomorrow to ease the distress.

It really just depends on how it hits when it falls. I haven't dropped my Kobo Glo yet, but I've dropped my Sony 350 while reading outside at the lakefront onto concrete at least 3x that I can remember from a 2.5'-3' height and not a scratch on it. A few softer drops onto my bed or carpeting that I didn't even give a 2nd thought to after the concrete drops.

Aw... I can relate, broke 2 (!) kobos in about a month's time... I now handle my Aura as if it were a heirloom Ming vase

So sorry to hear this. I felt exactly the same way when I broke my H2O too. It was the first e-reader I ever broke. I hope you're happy with your Voyage though!

I miss the size of the Aura so much, that I was looking up pricing. All too high. So then I got it out and turned it on and held it up side by side with my new Voyage, and realized I could NEVER go back to reading on the Aura screen. (The bottom third of the text is still readable). It is so pale and fuzzy next to the Voyage.

So here's my hope, for a Kobo with a screen as sharp as the Voyage, with the shell as thin as the Voyage, and as small as the Aura. Fingers crossed! (And priced no higher than the Voyage).

The bird is hanging in there....as long as he still eats and plays, and seems happy, I'll let him carry on.
