Hi, Sergey. Thanks so much for all the hard work! I've got your pbchess collection on Kobo Aura H2O and on my Kindle Voyage.

I jailbroke it by serial and installed KUAL.

I was wondering if you would like to add support for Kindle Voyage in pbchess. The serial I've got starts with B013. It was bought in US. I'm on FW 5.6.1 and the touchscreen device is /dev/input/event1 (tried it with evtest).

Myself, I shamelessly hacked your "launcher.sh" to add "B013) model="KPW2" ;;" in the right place, disguising my Voyage as a PaperWhite 2... I'm probably using PW2's resolution though...

For the rest, everything works, except for the known problem with the screen not refreshing after exiting vlasovsoft. Sleeping and waking solves it, so does clicking somewhere blindingly and then going home.

Let me know if I may help with anything.

I tried your new version and... I got an unresponsive device, just after tapping the vlasovsoft launcher in KUAL. Nothing works, sleep button, touch unresponsive... All I could do was long press power button to shut it down (reset it).

I changed the log level to 2, as you had previously instructed another user in same thread, and tried again.

Needless to say, same behaviour. Tried it about three times. However, it DOES work perfectly if I change "model" to "KPW2" in "launcher.sh"!

cool, it works fine.

the kindle-statusbar is a little messed up after closing the programm, but still readable.
After screensaver its back to normal.

so you can add KT2 to supported devices



well, ..... very interesting after runing your programm, the screensaver is rewriten and the 'specialoffer' advertisement screensaver is gone and replaced by the normal one (random pictures), i think.
this works even after rebooting the kindle - just starting vlasovsoft again and the screensaver is non-advertising

I replaced the libKindleFb.so and... you were right, the programs work now, they display properly. I made sure "model=KV" was in its proper place.

However, unfortunately, I noticed the frontlight control is misbehaving in a weird way: changing the backlight level from the settings or from Coolreader seems not to have any effect at all (and yes, I noticed the little check mark to turn it on/off), until one EXITS the vlasovsoft !

There, in the Kindle interface, we notice the frontlight was in effect changed to the level we were aiming for back in vlasovsoft !

I then changed back to the old gfx driver (and reverted model to "KPW2", no choice) and... just as I rememered, the frontlight control works flawlessly!

Don't know if it helps, but here is a level 2 log captured while the new gfx drivers were active and model was set to "KV":

Finally, I've gotten around to trying the latest version. Backlight working, programs displaying and working perfectly.

I guess you may, if you wish, list vlasovsoft as supporting Kindle Voyage !

One little problem for the screen refresh code though. I know it's not yours, but I don't know how to find the author...

The code does in fact refresh the screen properly on exiting the main vlasovsoft interface, except for the little black statusbar at the very top of the kindle screen (displaying icons, clock, the device's name).

That part is left blank after exiting, completely white most of the time, partially white some of the time (black around the icons).

Hitting the home button does not solve that, sleeping the device and waking it up again does, so does entering a book and exiting it again.

you reactivate the screensaver by shutdown, but never reload the unloaded modules ... but my scripting skills are nearly zero, so i can't test it

... have to learn it asap
