I see that the middle one has a clasp fitting. Did you try it out? The one I'm interested in has a clasp but I don't recall seeing feedback on a clasp fitting before. Thanks!

The Finitie is very nice to use when holding the H2O. I have the blue one and it's a very nice color.

Finitie doesn't have a clasp. To me, it would be annoying to feel the clasp. It would not make the cover smooth.

I have two covers for my H20, one is a Fintie and the other is like the middle one in the photos above with a metal clasp; they both work well but I prefer the clasp-less Fintie. I never noticed/was bothered by the clasp on my Aura but once I tried the Fintie style I decided I prefer a no clasp cover (unfortunately Fintie doesn't seem to make one for the Aura, darn it!).

They both work ok, the only problem I see with the clasp is that it gets easily scratched, meaning the polished look won't last very long. The side facing the magnets will scratch right away, just by touching and rubbing against the magnets. Also the Fintie is matte and has a textured surface, while the Ebay covers are sort of glossy looking. In the end it's just a matter of preference, none of the covers really stands out quality wise.

Yeah, the clasp scratches way too easily just by touching the magnets. I got a black cover that looks exactly like the red one in yayo's photo and in two months, this is what the clasp looks like on the inside.

Does anybody who bought the Cover-Up case (either hemp or the other one) know how the cases react to water? It'd be great if, now that I can read in the rain without the ereader breaking, the case also won't be ruined.

Also, is the general preference on this forum for sleepcovers actually related to wear and tear on the device, or just a personal preference sort of deal?

Finally, has anyone bought the Tuff-Luv case for the H20? I ordered it, but they sent me the HD case, ahaha. Just wondering if anyone got the right one, and if it fits the reader properly.

I just spent about an hour reading through the entire thread; thanks everyone for posting, made my life a lot easier =).

To answer my own question, Tuff-Luv thinks that they can use a generic case for both the HD and H20. A nice case, but the upper straps keep the power button down and are very tight on the H20. Kind of disappointed, looked like a really decent product (which it is, just the wrong one).
Noting that they are being pretty good about answering my emails and hopefully they'll be just as generous with the refund.

Any news on the Cover-Up Hemp cases? Does anyone know if they have fixed the sleep function problem yet?

I contacted Cover up last week and was told middle of March. I've given up now and asked for a refund.

I can understand that, it has been a while. But, personally, I don't mind waiting for them to get it right.
The more I use the Cover-Up Hemp cover the more I like it. It is holding up very well and has protected my Kobo from a couple of two foot drops.
I have made a couple of minor modifications: I removed the little Cover-Up logo patch on the outside spine and I removed the elastic loop on the inside spine, both to improve the feel of the cover (for me) while reading.
Having the sleep/wake function would be wonderful. Patiently waiting.

hi guys,
I'm new here but I like the forum and follow it since 2013.
I have one question: I'm thinking about buying kobo h2o. if I do, can I use my kobo aura hd leather sleep cover (made by kobo) with the new device?

thanks

@rebaco, even if it fit dimension wise (not sure) it would probably lack the gap in the back that would enable you to open the USB/SD hatch. Without such a gap in the case you'd have to take the device out of its case whenever you want to charge or connect it to the PC. So in general I'd say no, cases for other readers are not suitable for the H2O.

H2O is slightly shorter and thinner (due to flat back rather than the waved back of the HD) so it certainly wouldn't be an exact fit. And frostschutz raises a valid point about the cover over the ports that keeps things waterproof.
