How do you get coupons for Kobo store? I didn't see anywhere to enter a coupon code when I bought the Glo.

That Sci fi looks good, but I want the book on the Curiosity Rover by Rob Manning and Spam Nation. Both are rather expensive.

The first post in this thread has a list of working coupons. Just about every month, Kobo has a trivia contests--this provides coupons for small publishers, indie works and sometimes other books. They also run a sale just about every weekend and there is usually a promo code for that weekend. Those coupons are good on a set list of books (different each time they do it). Sometimes people get a coupon in an email, and it's generally good on a set list of books.

You can watch this thread for news, sign up for Kobo's newsletter or follow various book blogs that blog the deals. This thread is probably the best and most active.

I think it's a terrible mistake. I wish they'd just do a generic ePub and a generic Kindle. I doubt that there's any significant difference in content, I think they're just using calibre's built-in output settings.

No worries. The depressing part is I looked at the first post there, for the first time in a long time, and there's nothing higher than 35% coupons.

Mission to the Moon
Kobo US

Amazon US
Quote:
Jim Stanley, who had helped to build the first space station, was thrilled to return to it as a member of the crew selected to erect the ships which would fulfill Man's age-long dream to reach the Moon. A total effort was being made to surpass the progress achieved in outer space by an enemy Combine. It was believed that if this foreign group scored the initial landing and gained control of the cold planet, the world would be threatened.
This is the 1st sequel to Step to the Stars. there is a 3rd book "Moon of Mutiny" but the only copy I found was at Open Library and it's full of scan errors. Has anyone here found a good copy (of Moon of Mutiny) for sale as an ebook?

Thanks, I'll look at that page.

Do you register the reader? I joined the Kobo site before buying reader and have none listed on account. Does it matter? B&N used to pester the life out of you to register.

The only thing I've bought from Kobo is the reader. I can't really remember if there was a place to enter a discount or not on the payment page.

I've got my eye on 2 rather expensive books next week. I can't remember if I got the welcome coupon or not. Might have tossed it since I had no reader at the time.

I don't know about Kobo readers, but when I bought my Kindles they were registered to my account. I've bought some books at Kobo and there is a place where you can put in a coupon code (if you have one).

That's about as good as it gets. I think they were losing too much money and they restricted the coupons to certain countries and 35 percent is the highest most common working one. It's even very rare to get a 65 or 75 during the contest periods anymore.

I've bought a few books on Kobo without a Kobo reader and it's not nagged me to register one any. B&N is a bit unique in being a pain in the butt about such things. (It's almost like they don't actually want to sell the freaking ebooks!) As for the welcome coupon, if you registered more than a month ago, it's most likely expired already.
