Yes, I see that I bought it in 2011 for £4.49, which I thought was a bargain at the time .

The question is, did you (re-)read it between 2011 and now?

I've bought it this time - £0.99 was much too good to pass up.

$36 will get you the following:
  • One year subscription to Lightspeed Science Fiction & Fantasy Magazine
  • All 61 back issues of Lightspeed
  • The John Joseph Adams Super Gay Sampler (ebook)
Right now that's 73 digital magazine issues and one ebook for only $36. ($0.49 each!) If you got the back issues last year, you can still get 58 back issues of the Fantasy magazine, so it's still a bargain. ($0.51 each!)
Just a reminder that there's still time to join this kickstarter, and to mention that the calculations above are a little off. The subscription starts with the issue after the special issue, and they've just cleared the Special Horror issue total, so that's another ebook, making it 76 ebooks for $36 (or 73 if you get the Fantasy back issues).

If they make it to $40,000, you all get a special Fantasy issue too. Which would make it 77 or 74 ebooks!

LightSpeed Queers Destroy SF KickStarter.

They at least use the best converter software out there for making sure that the books are compatible with different ereaders.

We're now rolling out complete single-reader or single-tablet-oriented 9-book sets of all the YW New Millennium Editions. This is the page to check to see if your reader or tablet has a custom set ready for it yet.

We use Calibre for our conversions, so we'll be working our way right through their very comprehensive list of supported readers.

Does anyone know why there are separate versions for different readers? Is there a lot of art or graphics that need to have different resolutions? Also, when buying books it looks like there are three different choices for epub on the first book - epub for Nook, iPad or Sony, epub for Kobo, and epub for iPad 1, 2. Huh?

Step to the Stars by Lester Del Rey for $2.99. It's a good book that I've read in the past.
From Amazon
Quote:
“Only a decade away!" Yes, according to the well-known author of STEP TO THE STARS, this remarkable age that has produced rocket ships, guided missiles and hydrogen bombs will have a space station circling the Earth within the next ten years. World domination will be in the hands of the country that constructs it, and man will know, once and for all, whether he is free or slave.

Such thoughts were far from Jim Stanley's mind when he was investigated by the FBI and later subjected to strange and rigorous tests. It wasn't until he satisfied the stiff requirements that he learned the United States was in the space station race for keeps and that he could count himself among the handful of men destined to breach the barriers of space in operation "Big Shush."
