No, but he said his eBook Reader was a Nook and it is likely that he bought his books from Barnes and Noble. It is hard to know but can't be automatically dismissed either.

Exactly. If a book is bought from B&N and has DRM on it, it won't be able to be read on a Kobo at all without removing the DRM. Barnes and Noble doesn't use the standard ADE DRM...they never have.

It's an SD card full of gutenbergers (and more than a few files from MobileRead) that have been laboriously formatted with nifty covers and polished to display the way I prefer.

So it's a hobby and collection thing which I'd like to be able to bring along to the next device - whenever that becomes necessary.

Maybe we'll have to wait for the next generation of Kobos.

Actually I'm just finishing Joseph Altsheler's eight-novel young adult Civil War epic. Highly recommended for folks who like that sort of thing. Oh, and completely public domain.
