Change to "add empty book"?

(I'm not sure if this is considered a plug-in or not, so excuse me please if I've got this in the wrong place.)

I use the "add empty book/no formats" to build empty "shells" to keep track of books I'm looking forward to and books that I am still looking to find. Currently the command brings up 3 fields: How many books to create (required), set the author (optional), & set the series (optional). Most of the time I am creating only one book at a time, not multiple entries. What I am looking for is the possibility of having an optional 4th field for "set the title of the book".

I currently have 60,000 + listings in one library, with approximately a fourth of them being "shells", records with no formats attached. So as you can see, this would be time-saving and very useful to me. The shell would be finished in one step instead of two. Thanks for looking.

p.s. also many thanks to whomever creating or coded this part of calibre, extremely useful!

Thank you very much, Kovid. I use this feature a lot with the Overdrive plugin, so it's going to be very helpful. And thank you, bauerhjb, by giving the idea.

I've been remiss on updates lately because nothing added/fixed/etc has caught my fancy... but this week's update will be installed ASAP!

I downloaded the new version of calibre this morning and have been playing with it ever since. The optional "add book title" field works great and really makes creating my "shells" easy. Thank you very much for this change, it is terrific. Can't rave enough about calibre in general, mention it to anyone who complains about organizing their books, paper or electronic. But the greatest thing to me is the ability to read so many types of books on the calibre reader. No disappointments that "oh, I can't read that file type".

Greatest thing to me is that any issue you may have will get fixed almost immediately, and ship that very week.

Rather difficult to find other software where the developer is that responsive.

(And that includes filetype support anyway.
