I pretty much require humor or very fast-pacing for audio. I tend to skip over boring parts when reading and I can't do that with audio so I've learned to get short stories, humor or thrillers.

I really enjoy the audio book version of The Last Continent. It's got some of the best UUWizard interaction of the whole series, IMO, and the narrator--Tony Robinson?--milks it for all he's worth.

Book Two: The Light Fantastic There is a very well done move version of both books on one DVD. I highly enjoyed watching it. So if you do decide to skip those books, have your kids at least watch the movies before reading Equal Rites Here si the link to amazon.com where you can buy The Color of Magic. http://www.amazon.com/The-Color-Magi.../dp/B002436WFI Last edited by JSWolf; 02-15-2015 at 09:44 AM. |

The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents is set on the Discworld as well.
(In fact, in Reaper Man Maurice is mentioned as well: Quote:

Yep, I second the recommendation for The Amazing Maurice... and the Tiffany Aching series. I was slightly younger than that when I read Thief of Time but, while it's still my favourite Discworld books, it's probably not the best introduction to the series. They might also enjoy Nation?
