You were venting and ranting about the fact that there were two small bombs? My mistake. I thought you were venting and ranting about the lack of media coverage.

With all due respect... I don't believe any sane person would think media coverage to be more important than possible loss of life. While these IEDs didn't take lives... this time... a pipe bomb is a bomb. It can kill.

With 10 words about media coverage, and 75 words about a serious terrorist attack, do really expect me to believe that you thought the ten words to be the important part of the post? I have more respect for your intellegence than that!

My back was hurting a slight bit yesterday, but unlike you, I know why. I went mountain climbing yesterday. Okay, not technically mountain climbing, but part of my walk in Richmond yesterday took me from the corner of E Marshall St. and N 13th St. to the corner of N 10th St. and N 13th St. Horizontally, that's not such a much, but vertically it's about seven stories down and seven stories back up (walking on N 13th St.). Ever try to roll 300 pounds up a seven story ramp?

Yeah, really! If bombs, even small ones, were going off in Louisiana, I'd be venting, to be sure, AND wondering if there wasn't a lot of media coverage.

Apparently Stitchawl is a multi-talented individual -- seems to me he was venting and ranting about two things...

I can very easily see the first line as being a form of pre-remark sarcastic observation (leaving aside the issue of correct-or-not), possibly because I have used the same structure myself on occasion.

I am afraid I have to agree with Stitchawl on this -- the meaning was evident.

But hey, just keep focusing on how to disprove other people about the media angle (undoubtedly worthy though that goal may be) with nary a thought to the idea of people living under a looming bomb threat.

It's rather like this;

A) "Say, did you know that Joe Smith was run over and killed by a hit and run driver in a red Volkswagen?"

B) "Really? I don't think Volkswagen makes a red car."

It scares me that the world in many ways seems to have accepted bombings as the new norm. "Oh, but no one was hurt, and anyway it was only a small bomb" like somehow that is supposed to mean it is all right?!?!?!?!

Once people think it is normal, it becomes so much easier to gradually move "normal" to a reality that would terrify people if introduced from the start.
We cannot let them convince us this is normal!

The US Embassy thought it important enough to send out warnings...

But as usual, you're more interested in proving someone wrong than paying attention to the important part of the post... the fact that there were bombs at all. Rather childish and petty, don't you think?

Stitchawl
Hmm...people seem to be overlooking the post above.

12 words about the bombs.
36 words about the media coverage
35 words berating somebody for having the temerity to point out a rather silly mistake he made

For somebody who was posting about the bombs and not the media coverage, he seems to be putting a lot of effort into the quoted post to defending his comments about the media coverage

It's almost like he made a mistake and then tried to obfuscate it with nonsensical bluster. Surely not
