Its in the news that 5.1 is coming out in Feb so maybe google won't update Nexus 7 2012 till Feb. I have the 16gb version it seems faster to me. Most people that are complaining about the update have the 8gb version.

The other problem is it gives you no indication of what it has backed up and what can be restored. You don't know if it is backing up, has finished, or plans on doing it some time. Titanium backup is a much surer way of doing it. |

You and Barty are correct. I just uninstalled and reinstalled Moon+ on my phone. If you look at the settings page it sure makes it look like data would be restored.

Moon+ is easy to restore. You just back it up inside the app to Dropbox or SD Card and restore when needed.

Well I just got the update on both my Nexus 7 2012 and 2013. I did the ota to the 2012 and it failed miserably. I got the android laying on it's back and it said no command. Hubby flashed the images for me and said "you wanted it wiped, right"?
![]() I will be putting off doing my 2013 until I can figure out how to get rid of all the horrible white backgrounds on everything. I don't like the look overall very much. The navigation keys look real weird - a circle for home? Getting to settings is a pita now too. Where it was just pull down the notification bar and then to settings, there's an extra tap now. Not that I've looked too much because of the horrible bright white. I went with Nexus devices because I hated what all the other devices did with Android, now I hate what Google did with Android. Back to custom roms again I guess. |

^^^ yeah I hate the white background too. If you can get a hold of a CM ROM they have theme support now and you can find plenty of dark themes. CM themes are in apps stage so you will run into problems and stuff with white background still.
One thing I like on android over ios is support for dark theme, but Google seems intent on screwing that up with lollipop. |

Most roms have always used dark themes. I hope that doesn't change now that stock Android doesn't.

Flashing the ROM and starting from scratch is recommended anyway on nexus 2012 as it becomes horribly slow if you don't. As far as the white goes I agree with you. Have been waiting for cyanogen lollipop Roms to come out as they have themes. But have gotten used to the whites by now. Although I think google should also add google app themeing into android as they are to bright for using at night in the dark. |

Just did the 5.0.2 ota update on my 2012 N7. Went pretty smoothly for me. Wiped the cache partition using recovery mode (like I always do) and away I went. Seems quite snappy for an older model. Was already used to the Material theme from my 2013 N7, so no culture shock there.
