For those that flashed the Icarus firmware on an other device and have slow wake up: try to pres the power button multiple times really fast, on my wayteq it seems to wake it fast, what I mean is I press the power button about 3 times really fast and it wakes up, it seems it does not really detect the button press.

I have the same slow wake up on Boyue T62 with the Boyue firmware (lastest).
I've tried a lot of power button press patterns. None is really consistent.
Sometimes device wakes up if keep pressed for like 3-4 seconds. But sometimes not.
Pressing 3 times quickly: sometimes wakes up, but sometimes rebootes, other times partially wakes up (eg: devices freezes).
Also to put in sleep mode the power button doesn't really work. I need to press it at least twice to realize it ...

I flashed the Boyue firmware on my Wayteq xBook-60fl (T61B) and am also having the wake up problem on this firmware but the same solution works for me on this firmware too (press the power button 3 times and the device always wake up) but have never had the go to sleep problem you have described, perhaps your power button is faulty, you should try to use the xposed framework and the xposed additions module to remap an other key as power and see if you still have this problem (I have mine set up as: double tap back button->power when screen is on; single tap back button when screen off->power but I did have bought the donation package so can set double and triple actions but really the power button placement on this device is just plain stupid).
Also I know we have different devices but as I am not experiencing freezes or reboots with the Boyue firmware it is quite hard for me to believe that Boyue have messed up the T62 firmware and not the T61 (ok, the battery drain is much worse than on the Icarus firmware but it also is much more stable and smooth) one so perhaps you should look at your apps, you can experience freezes if the apps use too much memory or if you installed some mods in the system (like supercharger or used SetCPU to undervolt the device)?
Also you could try to factory reset (wipe data from terminal/adb) and see if your problems persist, hope you find a solution.

To put it to sleep or turn it off, try creating widgets using Power Button. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...te.powerbutton

Also I did look at any type of nook source I could find and unfortunately found nothing that would even give me an idea (was kinda expecting that but still had hope cause both devices have e-ink screens) so for now I think I will try to figure out the MHL method I described earlier (as soon as I get my device ofc and find out if it does or not support MHL), it will not be a on-the-go usable recovery but if I manage to figure that out it will be more than nothing, we will at least have a working recovery, but to say the truth I have absolutely no idea where to start from, except that one device I have never seen a recovery with MHL/HDMI support so I don't really know how that would even work.
Unlike NST, these devices use a different method or function to draw in the eink screen. So, you could test the generic rk3026 TWRP (from freaktab.com) which should boot (I tried one) but I cannot tell if the MHL method would work or not. I think it is not really worth it to buy and use a mhl adapter in order to use the custom recovery of these devices. The tool which I posted in the other thread can create a full backup of your device and the stock recovery could be used in installing update files.

I did already try that generic TWRP and when I did "adb reboot recovery" the reader just rebooted normally, that recovery does not even boot also about the MHL cable it's not really expensive, at least not in my country, I bought one for what would be about 2$ that's why I was thinking that's a good idea, plus I think there might be others that already have MHL cables, the bad thing is I don't think this device has MHL support because at least for me it does not work.

Hi all,
I had a Icarus Illumina E653 with firmware build number V1.0.0-2014111914 that have self wakeup and wifi reconnect bugs.
So I installed update.zip found here http://194.33.112.113/~icarusre/open...ormation_id=11
After that update form the official website, the reader boot and display the home screen but the touch screen is dead and don't update the picture (clock don't update the time). I can turn off the device by pressing the power button for 10 seconds.
So I follow instructions on OP to unbrick my device and flash the update-T6xB.img. At reboot I have a chinese home screen but the touch screen is still dead and display still freezed.

Any help please
Sorry for my bad english

Same case for me after unbricking with Wayteq 60fl. I had to reload the original firmware and give up trying to flash another firware on it (Wayteq does not offer ANY update to its device so its ADE mobile is absolutely useless).

Thank you
I don't have a backup of my original firmware.
Where can I find a original firmware for Illumina E-653?

I don't get it, do these devices have different parts from one an other, I have the same device as you and flashed both the Icarus and Boyue firmwares and they work quite ok?

Where did you find the Icarus full firmware .img file, not the update.zip?

Did you have a backup of the original FW for E-653? If yes, could you share it?
