Nothing. I'm slowly sliding into one of my PTSD depressions. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop regarding my case against the rail road. Now I've got to start on the medical malpractice case.

I think maybe seeing my daughter last weekend may have been a partial trigger

Take care of yourself, KindleKitten. *hugs* I have PTSD too... I know how painful it is. Do you keep a journal? That always helps. It's painful, but it helps alleviate the symptoms greatly. I used to keep a journal before I developed CTS. I journaled 20 minutes a day, at least. If you don't, I hope you find something... some kind of outlet for your pain. And I hope the deep depression passes quickly, despite circumstances...

Another thing that can help with being depressed is listening to uplifting music. When I was a teen my peers in High School would treat me like dirt and I could get pretty down at times so I listened to Classical music as a way of lifting my spirits.

Trying to find my motivation for today.
It's probably fled when seeing both today's weather (grey and stormy) and remembered the shipment that came in yesterday (lot's of fiddly things that need to be sorted and put together).

I also seem to have ordered another set of travel themed journalling cards. Every time I make a trip/go on holiday I get a set and I never use them all up.

Hey KK - I hope you find something that will pull you out of that feeling. I think that only you know what that will be, but there are a lot of people here thinking about you and happy to tallk if you need it.

Thanks guys! This time of year has always thrown me for a loop. My most effective therapy was skiing especially as the place I taught at had lights for night skiing. There was something cathartic about skiing through the transition of light to dark. And then of course being in the snow. Something about snow makes me very happy.

So who knows? Seeing my daughter last weekend, she was my ski buddy and we had such great fun skiing and showing horses. Possibly even watching the snow storm from hell on the east coast and seeing all of the snow.

Since skiing is out at least for awhile yet, I'll look for other things. My seed catalogues have come in and that has given me another focus, planning my garden. I'd done a lot of starts last year not knowing when my surgery was going to be, that all went to waste. I bought a small ish greenhouse on close out last year, perhaps it's time to think about putting it together.

Everyday it's a struggle, but at the end of the day I'm still here and have animals that depend on me.

Let me make a suggestion. It will sound a bit odd, but trust me on this one... making a 'night dive' when scuba diving is like stepping back into the womb. Get certified as an 'Open Water' diver (it's as easy as breathing and swimming,) then take the next level up to 'Advanced Diver' where you will learn the skills needed for night diving. You can do all of this in just a week at most seaside vacation resort areas, and it's remarkably easy on the body. Bad back, bad legs, painful joints? No problem. Scuba is no stress.

Plan to do it to coincide with the full moon. You would not believe the instant feeling of comfort as you slip beneath the water, everything pitch black around you but when you look up, seeing the moon shining through the sea... it's bliss! I imagine it's what 'Immersion Therapy' must be like. Just floating in pure silence, only the sound of your own breathing, no gravity, no up or down, just 'being there.' Then, when you turn on your flashlights, the amazing spectacle of the coral reef below you, keeping you entranced as you float along with almost no effort.

I think I just talked myself into another dive trip...

Oh, I believe you, I've always been very attracted to water. I kind of would get a little freaked out in the Army, and the close feeling of the mask and listening to my breath in the "Luke! I am your father" sort of noises. The other issue I have, and this is a tad embarrassing, when I took surfing lessons when I was working in Oregon, the shop played hell getting a suit to fit me. Mid ribs on down, no sweat, getting a suit to fit my bust is close to impossible. I ended up having to, with help, (talk about embarrassing), bind myself, then wear an under Armour in order to get it to come close to fitting. After that it took 3 people to zip it. I was beginning to feel a bit like Scarlett

I love the mental picture forming in my head... Thanks!

Taiwan is just a bit north of the P.I. Drop down to Cebu for some great warm water fun. Don't even need a wet suit, just a T-shirt for sun protection! Or do a plane-change in Guam for even better underwater adventure. The coral life in Micronesia is some of the world's best. I can give you names of friends who run dive shops there, who will hand-hold you through your entire course with personal attention, while seeing some of the most incredible sights normally only seen on the National Geographic channel! No wet-suit needed!

Right now, I'm un...winding.

Shoveled more snow, this time from the bottom of the driveway where we park the cards. This area is more for us than the cars -- the compacted snow will turn to ice if I let it.

Also got out to the grocery store to re-stock the fridge. It's supposed to snow again Thursday night/Friday morning -- only to "nuisance" levels, but that won't stop the mad rush. (Locally, we call these "French Toast Emergencies" since every one stocks up on bread, milk and eggs. What else can they be making?)

Playing the god-game Reus and really enjoying it.
I was wondering if the word "reus" was used intentionally; it's the Dutch word for giant and the game revolves around four giants you control to establish/help/destroy villages. I had assumed it was a game developed in the US but it turns out to be from a Dutch gaming company, not only that but they are in my city and have their offices almost around the corner from my house.

So what are you doing RIGHT NOW?

I don't believe I've ever seen or heard of the word "reus", but there are a lot of things of which I've never heard.

EDIT: Ha! I read your post wrong. I thought you were asking of the word "reus" was used internationally.

Never heard of it. While I'm not a polyglot, I do have kind of a weird ability with root words, especially germanic and romance based. It gets interesting when there isn't s base and my brain goes into over drI've looking for it
