Dear Reader,

I once considered not writing this story. It was too dark, too twisted, too much, too, too, too.

Obviously, I changed my mind. But I re-wrote it in four different ways first, trying to make it different, more easily palatable, softer.

It didn’t work.

So I went back to my original idea, the idea that I loved. The idea that I dreamed about and lived and breathed until it was done the way I wanted it, the way it has to be.

I know you’re capable of reading it. I know you’re capable of putting yourselves back together again when it’s all over. I have faith in you.

Is this story dark?
Yes.

It is twisted?
At times.

Will it slap you in the face?
Absolutely.

Will it have you flipping the pages, trying to figure it out, trying to get to the climax, trying to breathe?
God, I hope so.

I wrote this story the way it needed to be written. I couldn’t sugarcoat it. I couldn’t water it down. It is this way because the story demands it.

I’m not sorry.

I see Courtney Milan's Trade Me is loanable. Would anyone be willing to loan it to me? I'm one of the ones that has complained about her mistoricals (even though I do read them, go figure). Lady of the Gun by Faye Adams, an f/m western historical romance originally out from Pocket in 1996. I like how someone's trying to sell a "New" paperback copy for $2585.58 + $3.99 shipping. Meanwhile, merely "Collectible" used copies range from a reasonable $2.99 to an unreasonable $1743.30 for one described as having wear to spine and corners, as well as markings from previous owner (presumably the previous owner is not Adams herself and the markings are not her personal notes on the book). LOVE the McKinnon Rangers. LOVE! So excited she's planning another book or two. I took a break from my medieval kick last year for a colonial kick.

I read the Into the Wilderness series that was more historical fiction than romance, and really enjoyed them all. There was love stories and some sex, but what was really notable was that one character married and was a widow in the next book. I thought that would bother me, but when I got to the story that focused on her I was okay with it. So, anyway, what I was attempting to say is that I've also been branching out.

I also bought a 99 cent sale that's a re-release of a western or colonial, which I was going to post but saw has gone back to regular price. Rats! Anyway, hoping one of these or a title you guys mentioned will work! I have some contemporary books in Mount Readmore, so maybe I'll go that direction for something different.

What's the title even if it's not on sale I like to add it my wishlist. I actually finished a book but only one and it was audible and book on my Kindle Fire which I think helped me get really into it.

I've got like 9 episodes of Gilmore Girls left before I finish the series then I see me reading more.
