Freezing rain on Saturday, but mild temperatures yesterday and today.

Currently 2C today. 4C tomorrow, but the forecast highs are going downhill: 4, -1, -6, -8, -20, -21. That is going to seem so cold after two weeks of highs around 0.

Saturday was sunny and even though temperatures didn't go above 6C the outside tables and chairs of the cafés were full. But after one lovely day it all went back to the grey and gloomy weather. For Wednesday there is a possible storm and from Thursday temperatures will go down again and several centimetres of snow is predicted (yeah, as if that'll happen).

I'm in Richmond, and it is cold here. Cold enough for gloves. Cold enough that I wish when my wife drove back home this morning that I hadn't forgot that my hoodie was in the trunk. She won't be back until the weekend. That's assuming it doesn't snow. The game plan is for her to come up to visit our daughter Saturday and for me to drive her back home Sunday and return back here with the car. Snow is in the forecast starting Sunday night. I'm thinking there may be a change in plans, but I really want my hoodie.

It's all just about melted now, stranger. There's water on the streets, though, and with freezing temps predicted tonight for Richmond, the fear of black ice in the A.M. Many of the local schools have announced they'll be closing as a precaution.

The storm moved a little farther offshore and we got (a lot) less snow than we expected. It's about 4 inches deep out there. It down as dry, powdery snow, but we got some sleet mixed in at the end and it now has a granular consistency. I don't really have the right kind of snow shovel for it, but I'm making good progress.

We're supposed to get sun tomorrow. The slope of our driveway faces southwest and if I scrape down the snow to expose some blacktop the sun will do the rest of the job.

Just started snowing, but it's supposed to be less than an inch. Just a nuisance. If it's not too wet and dense I'll be able to use the push broom.

We got 12cm of light, fluffy snow. Driving this morning was a little treacherous. I just hope the winds do not pick up.
