You don't happen to have an answer for this problem do you? I've been using Moon+ Pro and Calibre Companion to read fanfiction stories that I have uploaded to my Galaxy Tab4 Nook. Everything has been working great until a couple of days ago. I noticed that instead of the mini status bar at the bottom of the screen displaying the book name, every book title now displays as "Start" instead of the actual title. A few days ago I did download an update for FanFictionDownloader 0.8.11 to my laptop and today I downloaded the latest update for Calibre. I downloaded the version of FFDownloader that required Calibre already be installed. I don't know if that messed up the way Moon+ and Calibre share the title info. I've restarted my laptop and the tablet but I still can't get Moon+ to show the title on the mini status bar. Every book I open now says, "Start" in the mini status bar. I've tried double tapping the center of the screen while in a story to display the Settings. I selected Control Options and made sure in the Mini Status Bar section that Book Information was selected for the three "Click" areas, but still no luck. Where I used to see the book title and page count, still displays Start with the page count. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks in advance!!! *~*~*~* Some additional information: I just noticed that when I tap on the mini status bar to show the Book Information, under the Filename, File Size, Total Pages there is a heading called "Current chapter" and next to that is "1, Start" which I think is the problem. Is there a way in Calibre or Calibre Companion to turn off this "current chapter" info? I'm hoping that will clear up the problem so the book title will be displayed again. |

Sorry for all the questions. As you can tell, I'm not a very techy person and these things don't come intuitively for me.
I really appreciate all your help. Last edited by pmatch1104; 01-25-2015 at 10:14 PM. |

As for the best way to remove the TOC, your best bet is to post the question in the calibre forum. I know you can do it with the book editor but there might be a better way, and I don't know what role the fanfic downloader plays in generating a TOC. |

This is so confusing because the title was showing up until just a few days ago. Then all of a sudden, I noticed it began showing "Start" as the title for every single book I open to read. Thanks for the help. I've posted a message over on the other forum. Hopefully, someone will have an idea. Another question since you are so knowledgeable ... Do you think if I try restoring CC to the default settings, that might help? I can't help but think I might have accidentally checked something in the settings that is causing this problem. If yes, do you have instructions on how to restore CC to the default settings (as if I had just downloaded the app for the first time)? Thanks again. Have you tried viewing any of these docs in calibre's ePub viewer, and especially looked at the TOC present in them?
I doubt the issue is CC but rather the conversion by calibre to ePub format. |

I went to caliber and opened one of the epub in the viewer. When I clicked on the ToC icon (three blue bars), it shows Start under the ToC. I did not put that in there. Any idea on how to remove that and make sure it stops putting that back in the future? ps: You guys/gals are the best! I can't thank everyone enough for their help and patience with the less techy users that plague you with questions. ![]() Last edited by pmatch1104; 01-26-2015 at 09:08 PM. |

Okay, I found a very helpful blog about ToC and was able to go into the EPUB and delete the word "Start" that was on the ToC page. I had to delete the EPUB on my tablet and then resend to the device. When I opened it, the title now shows up in the Mini Status Bar. YEA!!! Now I know how to at least prevent that from happening going forward.
It's be nice if someone knows how to prevent calibre from adding the "Start" into the ToC to begin with. http://blog.calibre-ebook.com/2013/0...e-toc-for.html Last edited by pmatch1104; 01-26-2015 at 11:08 PM. Reason: adding URL to blog |

I thought the current version of FFDL was 2.1.02 and the version for calibre can be found here --> [GUI Plugin] FanFictionDownLoader or from within calibre itself using either the Plugin Updater or Preferences | Plugins | Get new plugins. If you do use the calibre plugin version then ask for help in the thread I linked to above. |

Either way the OP should post in the FFDL plugin thread linked to by PeterT. |

Interesting. I see the current chapter. I wonder what is different between our two configurations.

It would be very nice if there was an option in calibre to turn off ToC for every EPUB instead of having to do it in each document. Oh well, I'm happy that I figured out how to correct it going forward. I'm extremely thankful for all the help you all have given. I've learned a lot just reading through the blogs and threads. |
