I don't know of any option to disable the function, but I do agree with JSWolf--very easy to not use if you don't like it--Just pretend the option doesn't exist.

That's not my experience, though. I find it very easy to activate this feature if you're tapping or even swiping on the left of the screen to turn back a page.

Combine that with the twitchiness of the slider to set the light level, and the uneven gradient in the intensity of the light in response to that slider (on my Aura HD, there's a massive difference in the light intensity between, for instance, 28% and 31%), and it's annoying that it's so easy to alter your light settings unintentionally because of this feature.

Any non-basic feature that can be activated by touch on the screen should have an on/off toggle in the settings, I reckon.

3.11.4? That's strange. I thought that was only released to beta testers. Is that after the setup? It should download the latest firmware as part of the setup.

I have never accidentally adjusted the light. So yes, it's very easy not to do this unintentionally. I find most of the time I get the light as I want. But when I know it's not right, I go to the slider to see what it is at and fix the level.

revinfo shows 7e9b4c4da2174158dd6cc2744654f9a00f3493cc. The date of the newest files is 28.11.2014.

That isn't the revinfo or dates on the 3.11.4 build released to the beta list. I wonder why Kobo rebuilt and have released that version.

My notes show that the changes were to fix the file order in CBZs and move the ToC to the menu rather than the navigation bar.

I got mine in Japan. I haven't synced since changing the affiliate. The software version is 3.11.4 (7e9b4c4da2, 11/27/14)
I guess I'll go ahead and update.

It was not easy for me to explain but MacEachaidh has done it for me : any non basic function MUST have an on/off toggle in the settings... then each user will have the choice to use it or not (furthermore, it's only one checkbox to add in the settings, the biggest work has been done).

Exclamation Japanese font does not show with N905B
I've just installed firmware 3.11.0 to Kobo touch(N905B).
I found Japanese serif font (aka. "Mincho") does not display in kepub file browsing. They are shown with white space and only alphabet characters are visible.

Default font setting seems to be wrong, I can browse document after changing view font name.

And keyboard displays square symbol in Japanese mode.

I lost N905C device so unable to check other hardware.
Any workarounds?

Sorry, I found it was well known issue.
I hope changes in 3.13 will be ported to Mark3 hardware.
