Light and dark bezels -- your take?

Comparing a black bezel e-ink device side-by-side with a white bezel one makes the screen of the black device look white and the screen of the white one look grey. But without another coloured device to directly compare the effect is not very noticable.

I prefer a black bezel, but the most important thing is that it is not shiny.

The H2O has no page turn buttons and I can hold it one handed and turn pages. Given that it's bigger and weighs more then a Kindle, I don't see why it's so hard to hold (unless it's a physical issue) a Kindle and turn the page using the touch screen. Though I do have to say, a case does make the H2O easier to hold. Same goes for the 650, T1, and nook STR.

I have both white and black tablets and had both white & black e-readers. I don't have a any problem reading or using both white or black. My personal preference is I just like how the white ones look. Given a choice of white or black, I'll pick white.

When I am reading I never notice the color of the bezel. It could be flashing different colors and I would not notice.

All in black. And all matte. I would never buy an e-ink device with a shiny bezel. For tablets, I use a screenprotector that also goes over the bezel.

I got a Surface Pro 2. And an app that shows either some bugs (not a glance), some fish (nope), a moving "laser" dot (eye action!) or a rope coming from the top of the tablet (frenzy!). He'll try to grab that rope with his feet, with his mouth, trying to look behind the tablet... Screenprotector mandatory!

I love the white bezel of my Kobo Glo! Since it is a lighted reader, the screen looks very white, and the white bezel appears like a page margin. I prefer the white bezel! (I have a black Kobo Glo, too, for comparison's sake).

I spent the weekend with the white-bezeled Air 2, and I decided to keep it. When I use my black-bezeled Nexus now, it seems as if there is a black hole surrounding the device, which makes the screen harder on the eyes, somehow! But all in all, it seems that my brain just ignores the bezel after a little while anyway, regardless of the color or the screen's content.

Yeah, your brain will just ignore the bezel when you are concentrating on the "content" of the screen.

I've had both and it doesn't matter to me.
Stylistically, I do think the white ones look better than the black ones, but in terms of it affecting the screen - I haven't noticed.

I have a multi-colored skin on my H2O right now and when I'm reading I don't even notice it.

I would love for a matte finished bezel. I never had an Ipad but if I did go for it, I'd probably go for a white bezel. It's not only in these threads though, most of my friends go for black bezels because they find the white one looks unpleasant and out of place. I like it though. Haha.

White is ugly! Give me matte black any day.
