The column creation code removes a leading '#' character when determining the lookup name. This check was added because for the obvious reason people often entered that character into the lookup name box.

No need to apologise...I'll try to answer questions as best I can, I'm just thankful so many are willing to help.
1. I am using file not #file 2. I entered: Code:
program:
ifempty(
field('#file'),
template(
'{author_sort:sublist(0,1,&)}/{title} - {authors:sublist(0,1,&)}'
)
)
And here is what the folder looks like for one of the books that failed: The Aliomenti Saga Box Set (Books 1-30 |

For some reason, the template is saving the file in the fallback location. That implies you did not fill in the "Original Filename" field (whose lookup name is "#file").
Sorry for not responding earlier, but I see you were in good hands nevertheless. Can you confirm that a) The current files are all deleted b) You have manually filled in the correct value for "#file" -- for example, "Storm Front (The Dresden Files, Book 1)_B000WH7PLS" c) You resend the book Test: Press CTRL+T to ope the template tester. copy-paste the save template into the box. It should return the Original Filename. |

The ASIN numbers are part of the Original Filename, and belong there
but that doesn't explain why it is ignoring them altogether and usingCode:
template(
'{author_sort:sublist(0,1,&)}/{title} - {authors:sublist(0,1,&)}'
)
