I am not sure I understand.
All Kindles have a browser so can search anything directly in Google. In the same way when a book is being read I can search for an word in Google, Wikipedia or the set dictionary - further I can type in another word and look that up too. What do you wish to do ? |

I'm curious as to why you would want to search for words in Google vs. the dictionaries that are installed in the Kindle or in Wikipedia, which is as easily accessed as the dictionary on the Kindle.

well, if I am reading about a city i dont know, i like to see where it is in a map in google, or many references that neither in the dictionary nor in wikipedia are, i know i can access google in kindle but i must retype the word ,and go to the menu and search for the beta browser , in kobo when signalling a word you has the option to search either in google or wikipedia, that's what i was looking, anyway thanks for the answers

When you touch and hold the word (or city name) on the kindle, it should come up with a definition of the word (or city name). It usually comes up with an option to also search the web for more of a definition. Can one reach a map via that? I've never tried, but that seems like a good question. Something I might want to do too. I know I've pulled out my iPad to look up a map of northern Scotland during a murder mystery or so!

How does this Google search work on the Kobo? When I highlight a word on my Aura HD, I see the definition, and my other options at the bottom of the screen are to highlight, choose a dictionary, search for the word in the ebook, or, for some bizarre reason, go to Facebook. I don't see a google or other web search option. |

I guess I meant the Wikipedia option. What does that get you, for a city? I would expect a map, but perhaps only for major cities. Yeah, an actual connection for Google maps could be useful.
