Tandoori Chicken looks scrumptious, Stitchawl. I haven't tried that yet and I'm still building my skill (more hoping) that I can perfect a roast chicken myself. My only not-so-secret ingredient is cayenne pepper and even my family sometimes wishes I don't put in too much.

Oh and by the way, I'm still loving the Barley drink. Eating and drinking organic food usually makes my day better. Addtional note: I hope to try mugi-cha someday in Korea. Nothing beats a drink straight from the locals. And thanks for that vital bit of info Stitchawl

Here's the secrete that makes it all so easy... 'Maggi' brand Tandoori Chicken Powder. If you can find this in your neighborhood, it's no more difficult than cutting the chicken into the pieces you like, dipping them into the powder, and putting them into the oven. This particular Tandoori seasoning is almost as good as anything you can find in the best Indian restaurants! I can't say that about any of the other Tandoori powders or pastes we've tried, even Pataks (which is pretty tasty for most of their other curries...) or Sharwood's, which aren't...

Considering the PITA factor when preparing Tandoori from scratch, 'Maggi' is the way to go! While we were still in Japan I made a Tandoor (following Alton Brown's instructions) using a large clay flower pot over a BBQ grill. Found several good recipes on 'Epicurious,' spent the time and energy... and charcoal, and decided that 'Maggi' powder was every bit as good and a hell of a lot easier.

You're right, preparing Tandoori from scratch is a royal PITA. I've done it, won't repeat the experience. I'll have to see if I can find an NA source for the Maggi powder. Currently Amazon doesn't have it, which would be my normal "go-to" for such things.

Drinking Peet's Pride of the Port today. Trying to save some of that last bit of Anniversary Breakfast Blend. And I like Pride of the Port, just not as much as the Anniversary. (And I only have a three teas here in the office.)

The only reason I tried it was because I wanted an excuse to make a Tandoor... I have to say, the Tandoor worked better than the recipe. We used it a few more times to make nan and shish kebab, but that was about it. A lot less hassle to make nan on a pizza stone in the oven, and shish kebab in the broiler.

I've just seen a face
I can't forget the time or place
Where we just meet
She's just the girl for me
And want all the world to see
We've met, mmm-mmm-mmm-m'mmm-mmm

Had it been another day
I might have looked the other way
And I'd have never been aware
But as it is I'll dream of her
Tonight, di-di-di-di'n'di

Falling, yes I am falling
And she keeps calling
Me back again

Good morning, everyone! Tis the Ides of January and I'm happy to be alive! I'm anxiously awaiting the completion of brew time on a mug of East India Company's "Royal Breakfast" tea... A good start on a chilly mid-January morn. 18°c outside my window, the sun has just inched over the horizon, and here comes the day!

I will take note of that, Stitchawl! I like spicy food a lot. and I've heard of Maggi! I tried their spicy noodles once and I loved it very much. Unfortunately I forgot the flavor, I should've posted it here, I'm not exactly sure if I had.

Have a great night/day everyone

'Maggi' is as popular in Asia as 'Knorr' is in Europe. It's everywhere! In S'pore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and southern Thailand, Maggi 'sauce' (really sort of a soy sauce) can be found next to the salt and pepper on just about every 'family' restaurant table.

Finishing up a mug of Peet's Anniversary Breakfast Blend tea. Time to squeeze another steeping out of these leaves.

Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy

Good morning, everyone! Happy Friday! Sun's up, Ahmad's 'English Breakfast' tea is in my cup, and it's going to be another delightful day in the Land of Smiles. How can it not be, when you live in a city known as 'The Rose of North,' in 'The Land of Smiles?'
