thanks a lot, unfortunately I still cannot get CR to *see* (!) *any* pdf or djvu. Only epubs are opened.

The pdfs/djvu are in a directory .pdf in the document root, and I can change into the directory, but the files are *not* shown in the list, thus I cannot open them.

I cannot find a version number in CR, but I installed the KoboRoot.tgz of the latest release, and pbchess tells me 2015.2.

One more thing - maybe unrelated: The launcher (fmon) icon, even after selecting it from the book list, does not appear on the front page as tile. Is there a reason for that?

Thanks a lot and all the best

I have Kobo H2O and in epubs the top bar is very close to the border. How can I add a margin-top to the header bar? Thanks for your support.

Probably I can fix it specially for H2O. Can you provide a screenshot?

Ok, this is the screenshots in Kobo H2O. I think that the problem is with the resolution that is 10 px different than Kobo HD.

FWIW, the top 11 lines of pixels of the H2O are behind the bezel, that might be related to what you're seeing here .

Exactly. The main problem is that the framebuffer in H2O is initially rotated in landscape mode (I guess). To solve it I need to rotate it to portrait and just skip the first 11 lines. But having no H2O I don't know how to rotate it's framebuffer.

For today kaznelson's solution is looking good (but for CR's main screen only).

Concerning the covering bezel, this post might be of interest for those using KSM. It can easily be adapted for non-KSM usage too.

Thanks! This is a good solution (not a perfect because it affect on the first application window only, but really good!)

So, all we need is to replace

exec cr3/cr3 -stylesheet $STYLESHEET

with

exec cr3/cr3 -stylesheet $STYLESHEET -geometry 1070x1417+4+17

for H2O

it also allows to set any custom margins for other Kobo readers for CR.

That's probably better suited as a question to @kaznelson, but I'm intrigued by the resolution of his snapshot. It's definitely 1080x1440 on my end, not 1080x1429. :?

Huh. I'm not quite sure what they're doing, but they're doing something stupid... (rescaling? But why?).

(book is straight from the fb, screen_02 is Kobo's snap).
(And that's only the very top of the page, it gets more and more obvious the farther you go down the page, but at least at the top you have the 11 black pixels to confirm that the two are indeed aligned).

EDIT: Hah. I'm stupid. 1429 == 1440 - 11. It appears that instead of *cropping* the top 11 pixels off, they're keeping them, but scaling to a resolution of width by height -11... . Close, but no cigar, nice try ;p.

EDIT²: I'd be curious to see what happens with a screenshot taken on an Aura... I'm tweaking FBGrab to handle the cropping automagically, and I'd like to use a sane value for the Aura .

Hi Sergey,

If I exit out of the launcher I lose my reading position and any bookmarks for the book I'm reading. The book doesn't even appear in the recent list after restarting.

I keep my files in hidden folders so they're not processed by Nickel and this seems to be the cause of the problem. I've experimented on the same book, one copy processed and one in the hidden folder and only the hidden one doesn't show up when I restart. Is there way to prevent this (short of processing my entire library in Nickel)?

Thanks

Edit:Worked out what the problem is. The problem is caused by ampersands (&) anywhere in the file name or folder name. Nothing to do with hidden folders. Tried with the same book in the same folder but replacing the ampersand between the two authors names with "and" and everything worked fine.

How to enter/leave sleep mode

I cannot figure out how to enter the sleep mode from within coolreader. The hardware switch and the sleep cover do not work.

When I enter "suspend" via a control (e.g., a tap zone), the device becomes unresponsive and needs a (pin hole) restart.

On a Kobo mini (FW 3.11)
