First impressions of the latest T62B firmware:

1) Battery life is improved.
2) Boyue incorporated the "volume keys setting" that was formerly only on the E653 firmware.
3) The reading experience with both pre-installed options (Adobe Reader and FB2 Reader) seems smoother. Maybe it's placebo? Anyway, there seem to be more, and better, font options.

Those are the tweaks I have seen. Anyone noticed anything else?

Given that Boyue included the volume keys setting from the E653 firmware, I wonder if the latest E653 firmware has added anything that the T62B firmware doesn't have?

i've an Energy Sistem pro, that is another "incarnation" of T62.. the firmware is almost stable and battery life is discrete. The firmware is free downloadable on their site, i think it would be interesting to prove it on original Boyue t62.

Hi,

What do you mean by the battery life is discrete Dario? Does it last more than a week with normal use?
I would also like to know how to improve the STARDIC dictionary, if someone knows

Thanks!

My opinion:

>> Icarus
The Icarus manufacturer specifies:
2000 Mah> Battery life is 22 hours (continuous use) | It would be weeks in a use of 30 minutes per day.

>> My Kobo Glo
The manufacturer specific Kobo:
4 weeks | But with the use of 30 min per day.
That is, 30 minutes per day is the same as 15 hours continuous

>> The same for the Kindle.

But between you and me, who reads only 30 minutes a day? So in fact are made for those who do not like reading ... kkkk

The problem is that many people expect the Boyue T62 (and others) work for 2 or more weeks using the device for hours and using various applications.
But I also believe there is a big bad faith on the part of Boyue, Icarus and Boox to suggest a great battery life. It would be the desperation to sell?

You're right! I use my energy sistem about an hour a day, so because i've also a kindle paperwhite 2, and when i'm at home i prefer read on kindle.. in my opinion kindle paperwhite 2 as pure reader is the best.. but the ES is more versatile, and i use it when i'm out.

When I first received my Boyue T62, battery life was not very good. But, after rooting it and installing SetCPU, I will get about twenty hours of reading time with wifi on and with Google Play Store installed. That is very similar to my Kindle PaperWhite 2, and almost as good as my old Nook Simple Touch. I'm pleased with that.

I don't know how much of a difference it would make if I turned off wifi when reading, but I'm satisfied with my battery life as is.

The latest T62 updates (I have a T62B) improved battery life a bit, too.

Could you tell me if the Moon + Reader runs fine on it? I plan on buying the T62 over the Moon + Reader Pro version. You use the original reader to read your books?

I have Moon Reader Pro. It runs fine on the T62. The Outdoors theme seems to look best on E-Ink. There used to be a problem with some menus not being visible on E-Ink, but that is better since the last Moon update.

I sometimes use Moon Reader, and sometimes use the original (stock) reader to read my books. Either one works well.

Oh! Very nice! I'm thinking of buying an Icarus for having European certification (CE). I'm afraid the quality of Boyue. Of no more than five months, and the battery, for example, addictive, or any button break.

The Icarus E653 is really the Boyue T61, with a new name and slightly different firmware. The Icarus Excel, I believe, is really the Onyx Boox M96. So, quality will be the same.

In fact, I can run the Icarus E653 firmware in my Boyue T62!
