I hadn't heard of Ubi before you mentioned the device. That's probably more up my alley than Echo, but not at it's regular price. I wouldn't be buying an Echo at its regular price.

If I could buy a second Echo for $99, I'd probably situate it in a bedroom/computer room where writing/creative work is done. The other Echo would stay in the kitchen/dining area. I'd keep my Creative Soundblaster Roar bluetooth speaker in the living room. It would be interesting to experiment with two Echos in a stereo-like setup, too.

I'm not sure two Echos in a stereo-like setup would work too well with streaming music. I listen to streaming music all the time and have Rokus in different rooms playing the same stations and they are always a second or two off because of buffering.

Yay! It's too bad you have to wait so long for delivery, but maybe any bugs will be worked out by then. I think you'll enjoy it.

I'm listening to streaming music right now. It's nice that we can ask Alexa the name of a song that's playing. She answers the question and then automatically resumes the music.

I made my husband request one, and he just got the invite. it is for our vacation house--isn't shipping until April 30, but we wont be there again until August anyway. It will be so nice to listen to our local radio station on the mountain.

I got my invite yesterday (requested it the first day) and my delivery date is mid-May. I'm pretty annoyed by this; even with slow production I think Amazon should have tried harder not to separate the sheep from the goats. They could have done it on a strict first-come, first-served basis. There's something about waiting on an invitation so I get to buy something from them (that other people have been enjoying for months and I tried to get it when they did) that is quite irritating.

I will probably not have Prime by the time this ships. I signed up in the waning days of the $79 fee and I'm going to let it lapse. I assume they'll still honor the Prime price.

It would work very well if Amazon adds the ability to sync. I have three early model Logitech internet radios throughout my house that are perfectly synced with one another on my network.
