I copy and paste the Amazon description, or the best review on Amazon, into a txt file, call this by the name of the book followed by B (for blurb) and load this onto my kindle, or previously, my Sony 505. If you look at your books by title, the book and its blurb will always appear together. This enables your wife to look at the B file, decide if she fancies reading that, then go to the book.

Sounds like you've made the effort and she is either unwilling or too lazy to look. My suggestion is to simply stop buying her ebooks. Let her go wherever she wants to buy paperbooks and stay out of it. Eventually, like my elderly Mom, she may ask you to help her search for books for her ereader. Show her the sites, show her how to do it, and let her do it herself.

Since she isn't interested in picking her own books then she shouldn't complain if you pick out the wrong thing. My children got two choices for meals as they were growing up, eat it or don't eat it. Once they were older they had the choice of making their own food. She had the choice of reading what you pick or picking her own. Personally, I would make her pick her own from wherever she wants instead of enabling her dependent behavior.

Not sure if this applies so ignore if it doesn't. For my mom I add say 20 books to her reader at a time. I then choose those books in Calibre and make a *book* that lists alll the books on the reader, a front cover pic from each book, and the synopsis of each book. You can choose how much info to include. I name this book something like Jan 2015. I then send this *book* to mom's reader. She can open this book on her reader and read about the books on there, pick one, then go read the book she has chosen.
It seems to be easier for her to be in just one place reading about all the books on her reader vs. trying to open each and every book on her reader to read about them. But, your mileage may vary. S |

Long tapping on a book on Kobo ereaders will show the front cover plus synopsis. The benefit of this approach, over adding the description as part of the book's content, is speed and ease of use. (Examples: you don't have to wait for the book to load, navigate to the description page, or fiddle around with calibre.) |

Tarana and MrsCoach show an interesting view on marital harmony.
However, I think Siverraven might do more to help progress and I'll see if I can work out precisely how this works using Calibre. BWinmill. I am new to the Kindle but quite a bit of that is effective on the K as far as I can see. Ditto Bookcat. Tony |

As I said in an earlier post, you don't need to do anything to enable this functionality on a Kindle - it's built in. Just "press and hold" on the book name (or cover image) on the home page (the display of your library) and select "Book Description" from the pop-up menu. |

Thanks Harry,
I see what that does. Snag is that we are about to go on a cruise and will not have constant wifi - and sitting on the beach probably would be out of wifi range. Tony |

That's certainly a valid point. That being the case, I'd suggest the Calibre metadata jacket as being the easiest solution.
