I'm a little more eclectic than you, then. I like some rap, lots of country, disco, classic rock, heavy metal, classical, 80's pop, and probably more I am not thinking of right now.

Plus I read historical romance, romance suspense, scif fi romance, MM paranormal romance, paranormal romance, and post apocalyptic and zombie novels.

I like mine so much I want another for the Bedroom. I find myself constantly using it for shopping lists and reminders and timers. Just having it to do math for me when I try figuring calories and portions was a time saver. I was standing right next to it with pencil and paper doing my long division when it hit me! Duh!!! Wait till you get it and play with it, you find many uses.

Hubby mentioned the voice reminded him of the Smart House on the show Eureka. I see Echo doing so much more as time goes by. I am hoping they integrate her with the Fire Phone so we can use it as a remote mic as well.

I listen to mainly metal and I don't think the Echo speaker sounds very good. If I put it about an inch or two away from the wall it sounds much better. I thought maybe it was the music I listen to. CNET did a review and said the sound quality was not very good. Do you think metal sounds ok on yours, and where do you have the speaker?

I already use Cortana for much of this but it would be nice not having to push a button and she doesn't do good shopping lists or notes. Does Alexa takes notes?

On the show, the voice was established to have been done by Douglas Fargo (Neil Grayston), the inventor of the system, and huge Sarah Michelle Gellar fan. He did the voice because he couldn't get her to do it.

In real life, I expect that indeed the same actor really did perform that part.

You're right. Needs more base. I tested a Prime Slayer song and it was lacking. Not as noticeable with a Prime Judas Priest song I've got playing now.

It needs an equalizer or something. Maybe they will send that capability through the app at some point.
