Calibre, Library Books, And a new kindle "oh my"

One of the features that I have loved the most about Calibre is the ability to get in line for popular books, DL them, return them, and not have to worry about getting them in order. The Outlander series is the one I am referring to right now..

As I have finished them, they have been deleted from calibre's library (I can live with the guilt of holding onto them past the lending period not with keeping it) as they have come, but currently I am on the 5th book, I have 2 more to go (already downloaded) and Santa has brought me a Kindle Voyage for Christmas!

As you can imagine my excitement at upgrading to a kindle with a backlight, I instantly charged and downloaded the three books still in my library. When I try to open it though I get the error message that it has been registered to a different user. Now I have registered my kindle under the same account ect ect. Why is this happening. Is calibre only registering the loan to the original kindle?

If a book is DRM protected (as I would expect to be the case) then Calibre cannot change it in any way. The consequence is that a book is locked to the device that the book was downloaded for and cannot be transferred to a different one. If you want to be able to use the book on multiple devices it will have to have its DRM removed. Googling for "apprentice Alf' might give you tools that could do this.
