Yes, a very small bug has crept into version 1.4.5 (ironically, the bug is in the version numbering); hopefully it will be fixed soon (I have PM'ed Kovid about it).

@ShellShock, if you think you can be around to handle ongoing maintenance, that would be great. All I can promise is to be an attentive middle manager.
I am not Clueful in iOS.


Regarding the version number, I had to change the version formatting in I believe two places it is called, in order to let it use 5 numbers (since I did not expect to release 1.4.5, merely to provide a stopgap solution).
If the new plugin is marked 1.4.5 internally, that will need to be reverted... but the unedited copy I posted should be a valid v1.4.4.0.1 (as I said above). Sorry for the confusion.

I have a brand new ipad mini 3. Installed Marvin on it. Updated it to newest version of iOS. Synced it with iTunes. Turned off wifi syncing and auto syncing in iTunes. Attempted to connect with calibre, which already had iOS Reader (1.4.4) and Marvin XD installed and configured from using with my husband's iPad.

My ipad mini 3 would not connect to calibre. I tried restarting everything a couple of times. Then I uninstalled the iOS Reader plugin and the Marvin XD plugin and deleted the resources files per instructions. I then restarted Calibre and attempted to reinstall iOS Reader and Marvin XD. Marvin installed fine and I get the following error trying to install iOS Reader plugin:

ERROR: Install Plugin Failed: A problem occurred while installing this plugin. This plugin will now be uninstalled. Please post the error message in details below into the forum thread for this plugin and restart Calibre.

I now tried to install the iOS Reader plugin from the zip file at the first post on this thread. I get this error.

I am having a bit of difficulty however. After downloading and trying to load the plugin from the zip file, I am getting an error telling me that this is not a zip file. And indeed, when I try to open it in Windows, windows gives me the same error.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Running Calibre 2.14(64bit) under Windows 7.
I use the plugin to sync Calibre epubs with Marvin on IPAD, the new release installation failed and was de-installed with the following messages:

To those of you having the TypeError message; have you downloaded the version in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=410 ; the poster DID update that file 3 hours AFTER the initial post was made.

There is now a version 1.4.6 available in the FIRST post of this thread.

Apologies, for some reason I didn't see the latest updates to the forum.
I have now downloaded the zip file provided by eschwartz.
I installed this manually from Calibre, selecting Preferences/Plugins/Load
plugin from file... then selected the downloaded zip file.
This installed with no problems. Calibre now recognizes the iPad again and syncing works fine.
