PDF Convert
I have looked at other pdf convert and they all seem to mess up margins and seem to be a lot of line spacing. Is there another way?
When I used amazon I had their convert service but it doesn't work for me now. Is there a similar option which is good as well? It is mostly text and some images. |

Ken; I know you are a major alternate reading software zealot, but, I hate to say it, not every request to read PDFs or ePubs warrants a suggestion to use Koreader.
@Elaxon: You won't get much (if any) discussion here on converting from PDF to other formats. You could either ask in calibre | Conversions (but this presumes the solution to be calibre), Workshop or PDF. Also do see Read this before Posting PDF Questions in the calibre | Conversion forum, |

Actually, it is precisely those looking for a reader that can present their ebooks, especially PDFs, in a manner that the stock software fails to do, that would benefit the most from trying Koreader. So, despite the fact that the mere mention of the alternative/add-on reading software seems to upset a few, where it is a possible answer to the poster's issue, I will continue to provide my recommendation.

EDIT: Another question The lights on the h20 the middle one is leaking out a little. So you can see it like a little light which is different on the color. Does anyone else have the problem? |

For problems with The Kobo Start Menu you should post to this thread. This problem; starting nickel from KSM, seems to be something associated with a recent firmware update by Kobo. I thought it had been addressed and a fix in place, but I don't use the Mark 5 firmware, so I haven't checked it out myself.

You can uninstall the KSM, Instructions here. Or raise the issue in the thread I mentioned, and a H2o user that has it working with the current firmware might post an answer, or tshering might.

A decent conversion that matches KOReader's PDF rendering, will very often require far more work to get it right. |

I tried that and it worked fine, but there is a problem that the line margins are to wide and it doesn't work to change with that setting in koreader. Is there a way to fix it? Or is it the css file I have to edit?

line margins in what? A PDF to EPUB conversion?
That would be the line unwrap factor, which is tricky to get right. It means when performing transformation spells on PDF markup to join lines into actual paragraphs, the converter guessed wrong. That is to say: PDF has no concept of paragraphs, only lines of floating text. Programs have to join everything into a long string and guess where the paragraphs need based on the length of each line. |
