Two days after Christmas and my bank has given me a gift!

Apparently my credit card has been "compromised". Called them back (verified the number first) and got a computerised listing of the last four transactions made with my card. Not mine. Then I got transferred and put on hold for half an hour until I was abruptly disconnected. Will try to reach a live body later.

Ah, the joys of the Holiday Season.

I had something like that happen. Turned out there was a virus on my computer and not only did I have to clean it out but ended up getting new bank account #, checks and bank card. Then I had to change over everything on online accounts of course. A big headache. I was a bit more lucky than 5ww though in that the 'theif' didn't get a red cent from my account.

The upside is this credit card is for internet purchases only, has a low limit and I don't actually have an account with this bank. I've only used it a few times in the past month so maybe that will help the bank trace down the breach. They also said they will remove the transactions that don't belong to me.

Personally, I blame the chicken.

I had my bank call me once saying that a place I used my bank card was compromised and they had cancelled my card and overnighted a new card. The next day the new card arrived. No unauthorized transactions were made on the cancelled card.
