My suggestion for everyone who is requesting an SD image for a bricked/malfunctioning Reader is to buy a second SD card and put the image on that in case you ever need it and then all you have to do is swap SD cards and go from there. And as long as you have the unit open, I'd also suggest getting a larger capacity SD card. They aren't that expensive these days.

Looks like my kobo did the same thing. Can I get an image for N289 and a link to show me what to do. Kobo was no help even though it was their update that bricked my kobo.
So glad I found this forum

The only one I have is an image for the N647, I'm not sure if there is a N289 image file out there?

Could I get a link for the wifi firmware (original N647) too please? A friend's has a blank internal SD card and not able to find books I can't seem to find any way or source to recreate it (factory reset doesn't do it for some reason).
