I sent it back for a refund. After checking my receipt and balances, the purchase used a promotional credit and not the coins. After calling CS, I was told that even though I checked coins for the payment, the purchase would use promotional credits and gift card balances before ever using coins. That royally sucks!

Now I can't buy any apps until I spend down the balance on my promotional credits and gift cards. I was able to make a purchase the other day without using either of those balances by unchecking both of them. I thought they finally changed their policy. But not so with this secret 1-click ordering where you don't see how the purchase was paid for until after the sale.

Anyway, no Mickey for me.

I have learned whoever Amazon hired for the Holidays for customer service nearly all I had to deal with are CLUELESS.

For those who have Monument Valley, which was free on 11/19/2014, there is an In App Purchase add-on Forgotten Shores for $1.99 or 199 Amazon Coins. The purchase of Forgotten Shores earns 199 coins, so it's effectively free.

You may have to update the app first. There should be a notice that there are more levels available (sorry, I don't remember the exact wording). Assuming that you've installed Monument Valley from the Amazon app store, when you choose to buy Forgotten Shores you should get the option to buy it with either Amazon Coins or real money.

Amazon has added a new feature for coins. It's called - Your Coins Account - and it lists your entire history with Amazon Coins. It's lacking in the earned coins category in that it doesn't always tell you why you earned them, nor does it tell you if you have any coins about to expire.

But it's a good start and hopefully, they'll address these shortcomings.

That is very helpful! Showing the expiration dates is my #1 enhancement wish.

But if they expire in a year wouldn't you just see when you got coins for that date then add a year to know when they expire?

+1 - thanks TM. It took me all of 5 minutes to build a spreadsheet to help me track when my coins are about to expire. Now I know I am good until May.
