Those who want a tablet with Amazon hardware and stock Android. People who prefer the Amazon hardware to the Nexus 7 hardware or who prefer the Amazon price to ipad pricing. You can view Amazon instant movies on a Nexus or ipad, you can read kindle books on both, etc.

yeah, you can also use a plain android interface rather than an integrated interface for a smooth Amazon experience.

"The Amazon experience" only makes sense when you only want to stay withing Amazon's walled garden. If you want to step outside, you can't.

And there are plenty of great launchers available (with more or less eye-candy depending on what you want), not just the "plain Android interface". And the experience on any Android device, with dual core processors or better, is always "smooth". That really isn't a problem anymore.
