Does the book have a valid cover image and title in the OPF?

Easiest way is to import into calibre, set the cover and title there, and use the Polish books tool. It will fix the metadata for you.
In Sigil, you can right-click on an image file in the file browser, and Set as cover image. There is also a metadata editor in one of the menus, you can create metadata entries matching with their Dublin Core names. |

I'm starting calibre and it's showing 'choose your e-book device.'
I mainly use iPhone to read but I might get some other reader in the future like Amazon. So which one should I choose? |

The only time it makes a difference is when converting image-laden books, because it sets the default max resolution/size.
Choose whatever you want, and don't worry too much. ![]() |

I think of Sigil as a way to build e-books from simple html files, while Calibre is a library-management tool. You can surely do what you want in Sigil, but if you aren't creating books for publication, I think you would be better off in Calibre. There is a busy forum on that software nearby.
