Oh, I certainly get that, Deb. After all, I only spent about 20 years working graveyard shift. I think the #1 reason I married my wife is that she completely GOT IT and never interrupted my sleep. Nor expected me to change sleep patterns, just because it was the weekend.

A glass of undistinguished white wine that claims to be Chardonnay from Washington state. I shouldn't complain, it's worth every penny I paid for it. (What, you think hotels give out good quality free wine? Not at this class of hotel, I assure you.)

When the kids were little and my wife had a couple days off from work, I (a stay-at-home dad) negotiated a day off to go into "the city" (New York). At 8:00 AM my wife woke me up to ask if I didn't want to get started on my day off!!!

And my standard response to the question, "What do you want for Fathers' Day?" was:

"All I want for Fathers' Day is to hear my lovely wife saying, "Good afternoon, dear. It's time to get up!"

(And I'm currently having a glass of milk with dinner.)

I'm drinking the classic water, but I spiced it up a bit with sliced cucumber. everyone in my office does it. For a healthier course also. Hahaha. I think it's a great replacement for softdrinks.

I'm finishing my 32 oz iced tea first, but after that I've got a 1/4 cup of lemon juice plus 28 oz of water (in another 32 oz drink bottle) making a lovely lemonade. My solution to the flavored water hydration scheme. I usually add a dollop of marachino cherry juice too, to make it a pink lemonade.

My child arrived just the other day
He came to the world in the usual way
But there were planes to catch and bills to pay
He learned to walk while I was away
And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew
He'd say "I'm gonna be like you, Dad
You know I'm gonna be like you"

Well, not MY son, but my son's son! I just got the call. Another grandson for me. 5lbs 10oz. And so we share the same birthday. Happy to us both! This calls for a celebration...
Super large mug of unbranded Keemun tea raised to my new grandson 'Lennon!' Gotta contact the international Florist and send some flowers, then figure out some sort of baby gift... They are harder to buy for than I am. We all buy as soon as we see... no delayed gratification in this family!

Between his parents, there are already five e-readers in the family. And as his older brother (now about 18 months old) can already name all the letters in the alphabet, it probably won't be long before he'll be using one too!

Stitchawl: Wow, congratulations! It's a double celebration! Happy birthday! More blessings to you and your new little bundle of joy in the family. I usually bring flowers to my friends with newborn babies, but when they grow into months and learn how to smile, it's very exciting to buy them the cutest clothes (even if they grow so fast just by the months)
