Using iPhone Adapter to charge Paperwhite
Hi
I ordered a Paperwhite recently and I am waiting to receive it. As you know, PW has not presented with an adapter and just has a USB cable. I want to know if it is safe to charge PW using my iPhone charger or not? Thanks |

Yes, an iPhone charger will work fine.

I even used my iPad charger for my Paperwhite with no ill effects.

Only if its a genuine official Apple charger or a leading brand compatible replacement. The cheap clones are dangerous (fire and shock risk) + have a lot of switching hash and ripple on their output and poor regulation.

This is not really relevant to Kindles and iPhones, but I once bought I cheap rubbishy charger for my laptop via eBay. It was one quarter of the price of the approved IBM charger. But it soon started to smell of burned rubber, so I decided to junk it.

You can also use a cell phone charger. I use an old Kyocera phone charger.
