There's a very good reason for having the option of wide margins. Has it never occurred to you to wonder why it is that newspapers, encyclopaedias, etc, are printed in narrow columns? It's because you can read a narrow column of text without having to scan your eyes across it, and that improves reading comprehension (you don't lose your place in the text so easily). Many readers prefer wide margins and narrow text for that reason. |

FWIW, I do give... about 5/8 of a hoot.
But I still enjoy reading on my Kindle just fine. ![]() |

What a patently ridiculous claim -- are you just trying to stir up trouble?
![]() Where has HarryT claimed or even implied he is a universal truth? I think he was extremely clear that it is a matter of opinion and that no one holds the universal truth -- that was precisely the point he was making in the very post you quoted. What on EARTH possessed you to blatantly reinterpret his words in a manner completely at odds with the actual meaning? |

Ahem. Shall we go back to OP and his questions in his thread?
That said I love my H2O but bitterly miss "send to kindle" after purchase. |

Hey guys, I would really like to thank you for all your help. It really helped me weight the pros and cons of each.
I've come to a decision after comparing the pw2 and the h2o at my local Staples. I've only compared the functions and not the screens as it would have been unfair for the voyage. And to my own amazement, I chose the h2o. The main reason is the search within a book is really more advanced for Kobo and also the Wikipedia search is better too. It was a close call as the Kindle is so much snappier and also I'll lose the ability to sync my furthest read for third party books. But as the Kobo has page numbers, that shouldn't be that much of a problem for the page sync. I'll also pay less for the Kobo as I have a 50$ gift card from my job (expiring in March) that I can exchange at Staples. I will not lie that if I had been 100% sure that the voyage would be available before March in Canada, my decision would maybe be different. I don't rule out the voyage though, I may buy one sometime next year. Thanks again, Dan Last edited by UltimDan; 12-17-2014 at 06:46 PM. |

Kobo: - I like the way it shows result more - There is a toolbar that show up letting you navigate between result without returning to the result list. - You can also return to where you were before the search just by closing that toolbar. Kindle : - I find the search result pane a little too cluttered - To navigate between search results, you need to bring back the menu, click on the back button and choose another one - To get back to where you were, you need to bring the menu and push two times that back button (which is a little slow because you need to wait for the search results to show back again before pushing it a second time) As I'm reading manuals sometimes, I attach a lot of importance in the search functionality. Hope it makes sense! Dan |
