I wish Audible had an inexpensive complete collection from the Brothers Grimm. There's one that's apparently complete, but the Whispersync price is $13, and that's too much.

Not to fear. The Audible rep told me about two similar promotions that are still good. One of them I would be eligible for. I'm running it down now.

The one that I'm interested in is one that is somehow through Amazon. There was something about how information about it was to be sent to my Kindle email address and maybe my regular email address, but I couldn't find it at either one. It is $1 a month for the three months.

I'm going to have to call Audible again to find out more about the promo. I'll also try to get the details on the other similar promo. I do remember that it is 99 cents a month for the three months and is not gotten through Amazon, or a third party (apparently).

Speaking of "Frozen"; when I first saw a reference to it in a Black Friday add, I thought it was a new line of frozen food Disney was endorsing. I had no idea there was a movie called "Frozen".

The narrator is not the same as the one that skinmaan posted. For this one above it is Angele Masters. From personal experience, I do not know which one of the different narrators is better. Julia Whelan, of Skinmaan's post, is probably the better one, however, because she is "Audible's 2014 Narrator of the Year."

Too, if you're concerned that Amazon may not release the Kindle book until after Christmas, and that you'll be out of the Christmas mood then, you probably will want to get the one that Skinmaan mentioned. haha

Or, you can get them both. How about that?

There is a brand new translation of the Grimms Fairy Tales that is translated into English for the first time ever of the complete and uncut First Edition.I am reading it now and it is quite an opener to how much the story's have been sanitized over the years.This edition is defiantly not safe for kids

Thanks - this is the first time I've heard about this. From a quick search, this is an Italian company. These audio-ebooks are an epub3-mp3 version of Amazon's Immersion Reading. Source material for the ebooks is Project Gutenberg and for the audiobooks, it's LibriVox.

I'm gonna do some more research and try one out.

Getting a bit far afield, but while we're on the topic of fairy tales, Disney has made available the screenplay for its upcoming new musical, Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods (due out Christmas Day). If you're not familiar with the show, it interweaves various fairy tales, following the quests of the characters and what happens after they get their wishes. It's a bit dark for Disney.
