Ohh and Square Trade are coming out tops for me with the Warrenty fiasco. I'm still waiting for Amazon to ring me back and yet Square Trade have already paid the money into my bank account for the £34.99. The £19.99 should be with me Monday.

So, Josie, what is it about the Origami cover that you like better than the 3rd party covers? Perhaps you said but I have fallen off the train and can't seem to get back on…

The way the Voyage fits into the cover. The magnetic back, so the front isn't an extra flap I need to hold when it's folded back. Plus I can get the side buttons more easily than in the book style cover. And it just really feels right in my hands. From all the complaints about it I expected the front to be floppy but it isn't the front closes securely and doesn't move around. I find the stand really secure, I use the stand even if the Voyage is in my lap as I use it on a cushion. Erconomically it just works really well. |

I bought the Lime Fore Front case. I haven't seen the battery drain issue so far. The only thing I didn't like about the case was that it smelled funny when I opened the package - really unpleasant and strong, but it seems to have worn off now. I gave the case a little spray with fragrance and that seems to have covered the nasty smell. The case itself is slim, doesn't add much bulk, and for just over a tenner will do just fine until some nicer third party cases appear.

I picked up a black origami case in Best Buy last week. I like the easy in/out and how the flap sticks to the back. It is remarkably heavy compared to the Omoton. The stand option is not useful to me as I never read at a table. I am not happy with the look of the foldable front flap, but am trying ways to "prettify" or hide the lines.
I've always loved Apple's Smart Covers, as the ipad does get stood up a lot on tables or desks for cookbooks, craft books and videos! |

I Just received the limited edition leather origami. While it is ridiculously expensive, I absolutely love the appearance. The magnetic folds do not snap together as neatly as they do on the standard black case, but they work well enough. It looks so much better however than the industrial look of the standard black origami, that I consider this item worth splurging on. It does scuff VERY easily, but this just gives it a more personalized look. Now I am trying to decide whether to sell the standard case in the flea market, or hang on to it and use it when I am out and about.

I'm reading an M/M story at the moment and did so openly on the train yesterday. If someone wants to read over my shoulder, I don't really care.
On the subject of cases, my friend just got herself the latest Paperwhite along with the Amazon case that goes with it. I really wish that book-style case was available for the Voyage. Why on earth would Amazon only do the Origami and not a traditional style case - surely there would be greater demand for something which is like a book? |

Amazon do an awful lot of usability testing. The fact that they decided to go with the Origami-style case almost certainly indicates that it's what the majority of their tested said that they preferred. If there's one thing Amazon are good at, it's marketing.

That might be true Harry, but the fact that book-style cases from other suppliers appear so highly in the results list by popularity when you search Kindle Voyage case on Amazon indicates to me that people are seeking book style cases, and Amazon are missing out on those potential sales.
I can't be the only one who doesn't want a case like a flip chart! ![]() |
