Help

Last night I did something stupid, I laid down in bed and decided I wanted to see the android portion of the kobo, I saw a youtube vid of pushing the back lite button and slide and hold the power button... it was dark, and so I hit the light button again and now, it does not come on.
That little light at the top flashes if I have the usb cable plugged in.
It quits blinking when unplugged.
Also the computer does not recognize when connected.

It's only 5 days old, so I'm trying to send it back to the factory.

Any suggestions in the mean time?

Thanks in advance
ps. I went to the kobo help and tried a reset, then a manual factory reset, still nothing

Have you tried installing Android (or any other modifications) on your Aura HD?

There is no "Android portion" on a stock Kobo Aura HD. You should be able to do a Factory Reset, (holding the power slider all the way over for a count of 20 [to make sure that it is off], then holding down the light switch while you hold the power slider over until you see the reset starting (lights flashing)) You may have to try a few times to get the timing right.

Luck;
Ken

Thanks guys!
I'm such a newbie newb... I saw the video and made assumptions that it had android already on it (excitement blindness of new device )

I did not install android, just the KoboRoot.tgz file, which did not invert the black and white. I tried several times, holding the light switch and holding the sliding power switch for 20-30 seconds at a time, only got the blinking light and a blank white screen. I used the paperclip and pushed the reset button several times, finally I sent it in, and got a response that they'll be replacing my "defective" unit under the warranty.

When it gets here, I will make sure to go step by step, read and re-read before doing any mods. I really hope I can get the b/w inverted, at 1% brightness, it lights up the whole bedroom
@ 100%, people on the moon could see me, I'm sure

thanks again
