Power's on now for me at least. I think about 75k are still dark. At the height of the storm about 150k were out. Ours came on about 12 hours after losing it. Lots of damage and accidents. A tree went down on a propane tank at one of the tribal casinos. That started a huge fire. Have to go walk the fence line shortly to see what other damages there might be |

Good to hear that you and yours are okay. ------------------ On a funny peculiar sense of humour note .... a woman was peeling potatoes at her kitchen sink (in Sydney) the other evening when she was struck by lightening! Her husband reported that she was holding a potato peeler at the time and he thinks that the lightening was deflected by a metal downpipe through the flyscreen and kitchen window. I tell you what, if you ever needed an excuse never to peel the spuds again you've just found it lol. Also I'd be buying some lottery tickets if I were her, because she's doing fine, she just got mildly burnt and had minor shock, but didn't require hospitalisation. |

I was hit by a random bolt that was heading through the open window towards the fire place. I had a cat on my lap and he was ready to nose kiss me but it arced between us. The poor cat didn't disk to me for 2 weeks. Believe it or not that was the. .. ..... wait for it. ....... Fourth time I've been hit |

Sounds like you have been very lucky kindlekitten. I've never been hit by lightning but I've heard it can cause a lot of damage (if not kill outright). We haven't had any such weather here but it is fogged over this morning.
