Pizza topped with bacon, hotdog and scrambled eggs?! I just tried it and it tastes like breakfast, but I have to admit it's anti-climatic. It doesn't taste as good as I've expected. Hahaha. Truthfully it tasted a bit weird, and I wanted the eggs separated. lol

The way my family makes roti is less elaborate than that. In the hindi language, the word roti simply means bread. Where I live it's served with non sweet 'curries'.

I really love it as a breakfast food, with non-sweet yellow curry. In Singapore and Malaysia they call that 'Roti Canai,' and there are street vendors out on corners early every morning selling it. Unfortunately, not here in the north. We have roti vendors but they only come out later in the afternoon, doing most of their business in the evening. We can get murtabak, and we can get roti with a dozen different sweet fillings, but only one or two savory ones similar to the filling in murtabak.

I'll be making posole this weekend for our office pot luck. I do it the old fashioned way using nixtomal not hominy. The mouth feel is so completely different between the two. I'm also incorporating my Navajo green base so it will have pork, aLOT of Anaheims and jalapeño for extra heat. I'm practically drooling thinking about it. This soup and hot and sour soup I make practically to perfection. I have now had 2 different people buy me airplane tickets to make the hot and sour soup. I thought it was a bit odd, but whatever floats your boat.


Maybe I need to change to "have recipe, will travel"?
